Marty Stoufer was the original croc hunter. Remember when he raised a bear cub and had to get it to walk into an old bear trap so it would stop trusting humans? Wild America rocked.

I vaguely remember the details of that show, but, I know that I watched it. It came on before or after the "Wonderful World of Disney".

Marty Stoufer looked like Al on Home Improvement, lived in a cabin in the woods and went hiking with a camera to make documentaries about the animals of the US. One episode had him and his family picnicing and hiking while he showed his kids the wildlife.

That was until it was revealed some of the stuff was staged and PBS has't shown any of the episodes since. Even though they made a movie about him and his brothers as kids with the kid from Home Improvement in it.
