Ortiz is overrated? You mean just because he's been the second best hitter in baseball for the last 2 1/2 years?

And because he is, undeniably the best clutch player in the history of organized athletics?
Reply
undeniably? so you'd put him ahead of guys like bird, magic, russle, vinaterri, peyton manning, bart starr, jordan, reggie jackson, patrick ewing, rivera, or horry and not even allow one of those guys to be arguably his equal if not better in the clutch?

ewing?!?!?! clutch?!?!?!

he was the least clutch player in history!!!
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.

That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.

did I stutter?

And why on earth would you put Manning on that list? He's be at the bottom of any list about clutch. If you want a football player, try Elway or Montana.

i heard that brady guy is good too

yeah...manning and ewing were obviously jokes, there is no way i'd be retarded enough to seriously include both of those guys when everyone else on the list has at least 3 rings

and those 3 rings that everyone i actually meant on there are 2 more than are had by the most clutch player ever who aparently couldnt be clutch enough to even go to the world series twice, let alone win more than one

ortiz only plays one third of the game. its catch, throw , hit. he only does one of those. plus without manny hitting behind him he probably becomes the player that he was when minnesota released him.

by saying "clutch hitter", I am discounting everything about fielding. No one cares.

When Manny hasn't been in the lineup the last three years, Ortiz' OPS has been higher.

cuntfucker.

probably cause his obp was higher cause he was walked so much.
of course, obp is more important than slugging, so yea...

in other news though, apparently jose valentin was one of the top defensive 2nd basebman

surprising that Webb won cy young, not that he didnt deserve it he did but very surprising, they actually gave it to the guy who deserved it.

Another guy that I would consider more clutch is Mark Messier. He won 6 rings, guaranteed a victory against the Devils, and brought N.Y. a Stanley Cup for the first time in 54 years.

Big Papi is an awesome hitter. In terms of power numbers, he beats Jeter hands down. But I think both guys are equally clutch. They both get big hits when their teams need them. One thing though....Jeter is also very clutch in the field. That is something Ortiz can never show us.
I'M HERE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ART OF BULLSHIT.
