Labs are second only to Golden Retrievers as far as friendly dogs go. They just have such a great personality, I don't think I've ever seen a bad lab or golden retriever, they are perfect family dogs.

sadly.....goldens seem to be a bit too inbred due to their popularity and the high demand for them. my in-laws have had quite a few goldens and i personally prefer labs.

all dogs shed but with goldens it's like tumbleweeds.

My only real problem with German Shepherds is that they often become too protective of their owner

Mmmmmmmm..........it depends how the dog is socialized. I grew up with shepherds.
