FYI, I've agreed with AM this whole thread, but haven't felt comfortable making it known.
The pledge is stupid. It's stupid not only to mandate it, but to even have it before school.
It is exclusionary, not just the God part, but even pledging to a flag. That violates other religions. Ban anything to do with religion from anything that has public funding. The end.

You know in the 20s and 30s instead of a hand on the heart the pledge was said with the right hand out in the air similar to nazis. Can you just imagine the kids looking like nazis pledging to the flag.

They really pledged like that? I personally like the way the military and the police etc. salute the flag...more like respect, etc.
