I don't know if you've seen these TV ads. I've seen a few of them. Mario Van Peebles making a movie about his father making a movie in the 70s that apparently became some big cult hit.
It's been out for two weeks. So last weekend was only the second weekend that the movie had been out.
The early adopters who saw it the opening weekend got tell all their friends how great it was. The people who thought about seeing it, got to watch Ebert and Roeper and get all pumped up to watch the movie.
How much did it bring in last weekend? $323.
So far; $359,259 for two weeks. Now, I don't know how much it costs to buy advertising, but I know I've seen a few ads for this movie, and I would imagine that they're going to lose their shirts on this friggin thing.
