How come Shortround doesn't appear in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade? I mean, Dr. Jones couldn't get him into the US? He didn't adopt him or something? He makes plenty of money to support him. And he could have used him when they went into the cave to get the Holy Grail; his small body could have easily stopped the blades.

They just could have had a scene where Indy goes back to his house, and finds Shortround dead, with a note from Donavan saying "Come meet me; it's about the Holy Grail." And that would explain so much.
