Whats the point with the new feature?

I don't get it. What do we gain by knowing who's viewing what forum? I could see the comedic possibilities if we had a "Gay man-ass lovers" forum. Then we could all point and laugh at ar...bland, when we knew he was looking at it, but other than that, whats the benefit?
