Get Aubrey Huff while you can.
After next week, he's going to qualify at 3B and will immediately be one of the top guys at that position.

label this under "Things you should have told me 1 month ago".
Anything else? Maybe we should pick up Aaron Boone. I heard he is doing well.
Thank you. This has been a public service annoucement brought to you by Ronin, your favorite neighborhood mercenary.

too late :-(
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.
That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.

Galt, I have a question for you.... I'm in need of a closer only being left with dejean after percival went on the DL. My OF's consiste of hunter, sosa, mastsui, drew and patterson. My top starters are clemens, wood, woody and colon.
I have been offered a trade of sosa, clemens and percival for Berkman, benitez and kris benson....what do you think about this trade?

I am biased because I loathe Clemens. I think he'll mail in the rest of the season once he gets his 300th win.
Though I'm not really sold on Benson. Plays on a bad team and has to pitch against the rotation/offenses of Houston, Chicago, and St Louis, not helping his ERA or win total.
However, Percival is very possibly done for the year. If not done, he'll be less effective. He's got a degenerative hip and now is changing his delivery because of it.
I would probably reject the trade and try for a better starting pitcher, but the offer isn't far off.

Dear Abby....wait, sorry wrong thread.
I tried for a better starter, but his pitching is either top 3 or 4 in the league an then drops off to bottom 6 or 7 in the league so no room for margin.

Pick up Contreras.
Sure, his numbers suck and his last start was tainted by playing Detroit, but if you look at his numbers he's only let up runs against the Red Sox and Blue Jays -- two of the best offenses in baseball.
I still wouldn't start him in Cincinatti though.

Brian Giles...off the DL for 2 weeks now
Dave Roberts...just got off the DL
Jerry Hairston...DL
and this in a league with a max of 30 moves for the year

Beltran's worth a little more than Sosa.
I'd say someone like Giles or another 2/3rd round pick.
