Boxing's Judging Atrocities
#1
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=2371376">http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing ... id=2371376</a><!-- m -->

ESPN put out a list of controversial outcomes from judges from fights.

Of them, these two stand-out to me...

1. Sugar Ray Leonard D12 Thomas Hearns

2. Julio Cesar Chavez D12 Pernell Whitaker
There are four kinds of people in this world: cretins, fools, morons, and lunatics.

the whitaker decision was the absolute worst robbery I ever saw, whitaker gave chavez a clinic that fight.

The delahoya- trinidad fight I don't view as a horrible decision, that loss is all on Oscar. He had the fight bagged and then coasted for the last third of the fight and basically handed it on a platter to Trinidad.

delahoya got robbed! if you win 8 rounds of a fight and dnce for 4 rounds, then you won 2/3 of the fight and that is a majority. i dont care if he read a book for the last 4 rounds. he won the majority of the rounds and therefore deserved the win.

as for the whittaker-chavez fight, plain old robbery. a fucking disgrace.
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.

That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.

I had delahoya winning by just a single round as I scored it, so if any of the judges felt in the first 7 or 8 rounds that this was gonna be a clinic and gave a close round to trinidad, that naturally is what swayed the fight. One judge had it a draw and the other two had trinidad winning by 1 round. The fight was close because trinidad won the 1st round, then oscar in my book won the next 7 but then gave up the last 4. He lost that fight by giving up in the final rounds.

even by your scoring it was 7 rounds delahoya, 5 rounds trinidad. delahoya got robbed,

yeah did you miss the part where I said that I had delahoya winning, the point is that the fight should have been close at all, he let it become close. It was a 12 round fight, not a 8 round fight. You wanna fight 8 rounds then stay in the amatuers.
