im curious what the thought process was that led to this choice.

i wanted a monkey but couldn't find any designs the interested me, but i thought the 12 monkeys monkey looked cool. however, i didn't want it to be that monkey because i wasn't getting it because "omg 12 monkeys roolz", i just liked the way it looked. so i brought it to the guy and said i want something like this but different enough so when people see it they won't think "12 monkeys!"
and thats what he drew and i liked it. obviously some parts are pretty different, like the face, but i liked the way he went with it. we went back and forth a few times on some little changes in the face. i have a picture of it earlier and the face is really jagged and more demonic looking, and i wanted more smooth lines. i guess it made it a little more berenstain bears like, but whatever.
i'll probably eventually get it shaded and stuff to give it some depth

i also didn't want it just all colored in like the 12 monkeys monkey, like this one

if he did that with what he designed it probably would look more like an inkblot.

also i figured since people get things like a cross for god, a monkey can be for evolution.

i like the tattoo but 12 monkeys was the first thing i thought of when i saw it.
