After about 4 or so months of my PS2 not reading various formats of media, i fixed it. Those CD/DVD cleaners suck. I tried compressed air but it didn't help. So my solution was to search online for a tutorial and crack the sucker open. At last every single game, dvd and cd works now. I encourage all those capable to try this. The trick that finally did it was cleaning the lens with a Q-tip and Rubbing Alcohol then blowing it dry with compressed air.

My dad took his broken cd player apart and cleaned it the same way. Pretty smart.

I'm just happy I don't have to shell out Sony's one time fee of $120 to send it to them for 8 weeks and have it fixed.

i have 3 extra screws, and the dvd drive is somehow off its track, it tries to eject and it hits the console

I'm finally gonna cave in and buy a PS2, I am tired of listening to you fuckers talk about GTA.
I'm gonna wait till next week, cause we get a 30% discount at work. So I will pick up the system and some games, I'll save 60 bucks on the system alone.

Well since I am like the last person to get a PS2 I will need some catch up time. I have to play GTA 3 before I play Vice City but I will get both since we get a 30% discount. Because the 30% discount is only till christmas, then it goes back to the regular 20% employee discount. I also wanna get the new WWE game as well as a few others.
SOCOM looks nice though, I will probably rent it before I buy it though cause I am really not into games like that. I prefer sports games more so, so I will naturally get NBA 2K3 and MLB Slugfest.

Live is by far the better game...I don't know what the Hell is up with all these people claiming 2k3 is so fucking amazing, Live plays better, looks better and HAS NO FUCKING BUGS. I bought 2k3 and brought it back twice because it had these annoying bugs where they would call out of bounds when I was in the middle of the fucking floor, then the camera would just start spinning for no reason and the other team would suddenlly have the ball eventhough I hadn't done anything.
Get Live, much better game, plus the freestyle button is sick...You use the right analog stick to perform cross-overs and shit like that, looks Damn sweet when running down the court, spinning around a guy and then putting up the ball for an alley to T-mac
