Yesterday I got both sobig and the worm, but both were caught right away by my norton software... the infected files in -- windows nt -- were 'quarantined' and i'm wondering what that means for the application. Everything seems ok. I'm thinking if symantec could have deleted the infected files safely it would have... I didn't even get the option for deleting; only to try repairing the files, which failed.
What now? It's just gonna sit here in my computer? I'm just infected forever?

the files are quarantined - you should be able to just delete them from within Norton's. They weren't executed (at least I don't think they were) so the apps should run fine.
Once you delete them, take some time out to give your system a virus scan - be sure to do the live update first though.

Thanks Goat... I did scan tho, as soon as I saw the alert & that's how the files got quarantined.
What happened was I got a 'popup alert' & opened it. I'm sure that was my mistake... I thought it was legit from my ISP

If you'd use protection you wouldn't get those nasty viruses.
