Burning Dvd's
#1
Anyone here know how to burn avi files to a dvd so that a dvd player can read it?

I looked around the net and couldn't seem to find anything that explained it easy so I thought I'd ask over here.

you need to convert the avi to an mpeg. then rip the mpeg to ibu's, then nero them.

That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.

the latest version of nero(like arpi stated above) will re-encode them for you.

so if I use Nero to say add an AVI to a 'DVD-video' compilation...it'll do it there...or is there some menu option I"ve over looked?

no idea, I tried it once with some other application and it took forever - it seems the easier route is to buy a $50 Apex dvd player that plays AVI files, or mod your X-Box.

it isnt really that difficult. to decode , reencode , and burn a full length movie it would usually take 5 hours.

well yeah, but 5 hours is a long time - thats why its easier to just get a unit that plays the media. If you have the time to kill, go for it.

I'm not doing a full length movie. I'm doing the entire second season of Arrested Development. So it's multiple AVI files.
