When you are single - What do you do to pass the time?

What do you do when you find yourself suddenly single again? If it was your idea or not, what helps you fill the time, so you don't dwell on it?

Useless sex? Heavy drinking? Catch up on your reading?

If it's not on my terms, yes. Not something I'm too proud of either

I think the best thing to do is to try to get some kind of normacy back in your life. Try to do some of the same things you did before, it's never a good idea to just dwell on it and make yourself feel even more like shit

Being single is not just a state of relationship, it's a state of mind. I relish the fact that I don't have some broad dragging me all over the place making nice with people and all that happy shit.

I enjoy the fact that I can be alone to do whatever I please without even thinking about what someone else wants to do.

Sure, I miss the sex, but other than that, I love being single.

The key is to find something you like to do, or just learn to like not doing anything. I think the latter becomes easier as we grow older. It's been a long time since I've been bored.

Girls often put a different value on sex than men do. For me, if a chick is comfortable with herself, and makes me comfortable as well, things usually go pretty well. If it's awkward, I don't have the patience.

When sex is good, it's generally a sign of comfort between two people. That being said, I think just telling someone, "I like fucking you, but don't want to take it much beyond that" should be appropriate. I mean sure, they may take it harshly, but you have to be honest when it comes to people you're banging.

I've been single for a while now, but after my last long term serious relationship ended a little less than a year ago, I caught up with friends who I hadn't seen on a regular basis, did better in school, had a few meaningless flings, and just basically took care of me....oh and of course when it first ended...drank like an alcoholic.
