Empire
#1
I went to see Empire yesterday (had some time to kill between finals and was bored and it was the only thing playing)....I was very, VERY suprised by the movie, it was a Hell of alot better than I thought it would be, Leguizamo acctually did a great job as the lead character trying to escape out of the drug world. The only gripe I had with the movie is that it was obvious that they were trying to re-create Scarface. Other than that it was a solid movie that was enjoyable to watch, but I'd probablly wait for it to come out on dvd

but you just said you saw it in the theater. make up your mind!
I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.

That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.

Every urban gangster type movie tries to recreate scarface cause that is their godfather. Personally I love scarface more than any other movie as well.

I am expecting it to be a really good movie as well and I am actually looking forward to seeing empire more than any other movie this year, including gangs of ny and LOTR II.

Well, the parallels in this are too fucking obvious, you'll see what I mean after watching the movie. The biggest suprise really was Leguizamo though, he really does a good job in this movie. The rappers that were cast in this movie were cast well, Fat Joe works perfectly as a rival drug dealer, while Treach fits the tough guy friend who sticks with you through thick and thin well.

That's so he didn't sport an enormous erection every time he had a scene with her.

Taking lack of motivation to a whole new level.
