I've been hearing about this for a couple of days and I'm not sure what I think of it. Is this just a chance for baseball to become bigger around the world? Trying to get it back into the Olympics? or is it something smaller and more domestic? They keep toting the Olympic Style Testing and showing highlights of suspected steriod users that have signed up. Maybe, MLB is doing this so they can try and clear the names of some of the players and also attempt to begin to make baseball look more credible? If all these big name stars that are going to play make it past the testing does that mean we are to forget that other players have been caught and accused?
I'm not sure what I think about it yet except that it should be some very fun baseball to watch.
I hold the dubious honor of being the only person never modded who has also never been to a party who in the past had a shared account with a vegetable reference that has had consensual sex with a woman who wasn't from the board that also knows what >) means and remembers the end of the golden age.

Because the Olympics occurs during baseball season, and because of the perceived threat to US baseball from the rest of the world beating up our college player teams, they came up with this.

So you think it's just $ or does the possiblity of returning some form of credibility to the game by putting these marquee players through strict drug testing have anything to do with it?

the drug testing is more relaxed then the olympic drug testing, its one of the problems people have with this entire concept.

I love him. He's like those happy old people who become known for sitting by the side of a busy street and waving to passing cars. People drive by regularly and beep just to see him and get him to wave to them.
That's just like our Arpi... except he doesn't wave or anything. He just says mean things to you.
