I had no interest in seeing it till all the reviews came out praising this movie.

you mean in more than just the obdvious ways of better gfx, sound quality and so forth that just showcase better technology as opposed to a better film.
I hold the dubious honor of being the only person never modded who has also never been to a party who in the past had a shared account with a vegetable reference that has had consensual sex with a woman who wasn't from the board that also knows what >) means and remembers the end of the golden age.

the original is pretty cheesy at times. dialogue, acting, etc.

the new one is not without flaws...but i'll hold off till others see before listing them.
