i plan to hit the poker room for the first time, i usually just play craps or blackjack but i play hold em regularly with friends so i figured i'd give it a shot.

i have. the best advice i can give you is to fill your pockets with sand and walk out into the ocean as far as you can.
actually, play a limit table and play tight. if you win one good pot an hour then you are doing well. only play premium hands. thats what i tell all beginners. then do that ocean thing.
