Musicians Unite - What do you play? and what kind of music

Sean, first off, if this belongs in Entertainment, I apologize.

I'm curious. How many musicians are there here?

- What instrument(s) do you play?
- do you play in a band?
- what kind of music?

I play percussion, a few string instruments and can fudge my way on a keyboard if I had to. I used to play in a Turkish night club in Brooklyn. You haven't lived until you had a scantly clad bellydancer shake her ass in your face. (Think Dueling Banjos but with a drum and her ass shakin beat for beat with you. )

Please note: Skin flutes, meat pipes, farting to Beethoven or banging your dates ass to an Aerosmith song do not count as a musical talent.

I played violin for 10 years, was all state in high school. Then i decided to put that aside and i play guitar now.

I play on a Gibson J-180 accoustic with electric cutaway

Thanks to Ian Anderson I played flute for a long time.

I'm currently taking guitar lessons.

Anyway, I sing, or attempt to sometimes...just about any type of music. I prefer to sing back-up because I love harmonizing. Hopefully, my friends and I are going in a studio next month where they record you a CD of your session. Should actually turn out pretty good...

I also eventually want to pick up a bass and try my hand at it.

I played the trumpet for like a bazillion years. Every style you can imagine. I also can play just about any other brass instrument.

Percussion. I tought it for 7 years.

I can fudge the piano. I can write on it, and play one handed, but thats about the extent of it.

I played cello for a bit, and violin for a bit, but couldnt play them now if you paid me.

- A flutist
- A percussionist
- and Violin/Cello player

now what the fuck are we gonna do with a cello in this band? A violin okay - some Charlie Daniels can get worked out ....but a cello?

I used to sing in a punk/thrash band up until a month ago...
Ive also played bass for about 3 years.. Ibanez Soundgear.. Im starting a new band this weekend actually. were hitting up the studio.. its gonna be kinda slower but still with punk influences, kinda eerie like Rudimentary Peni..
