what are some summer jobs you had? i never had a real summer job and i'm going try and get one this summer. all i had was a paid internship where i worked at a architectural(sp?) firm, and i got less then minimum wage for that. i'm thinking of trying to get a delivery job for pizza or something.

Go work in a kitchen...
the hours may suck...
It's hot as hell...
But if you get good...
You will always have something to fall back on, no matter what your chosen profession is...
Pay's not too shabby either...

My brother worked in a beach club last summer...he made pretty good money too and judging by how many chicks were calling the house, it had its perks as well....

I painted houses.
It was nice. Always outside in nice weather (if it was bad weather we painted inside), nice houses, since I was on Cape Cod, they were often near the beach and hot bunnies were aplenty.
I started when I was 14, and by the summer between my senior year in college, I was making $15 an hour under the table.

i worked door to door in miami telling people how big companies were screwing them over and asking for donations. i wouldn't reccommend that. i think it was the only specifically summer job i did. other part time jobs while i was at school: delivering chicken wings, mostly to famu which is 99% (or something in that neighbourhood) black which meant virtually no tips and my life was probably in danger more often than not. that didn't last very long. then i worked for rgis: retail grocery inventory specialists. basically we had these big calculator/mini computer things strapped around our waist and went to stores and counted their merchandise. the hours were pretty haywire but it was easy mindless work and the pay was slightly above minimum wage.

Get a big piece of cardboard, a big black marker, and find a busy corner. Write on sign "Will Wash Window for $1.00 or blowjob, your choice". Wash peoples windows whether they ask or not. Then make sure they pay up.

I too need a summer job. I don't have much I can offer except that there is no way in hell I can concievably function as a cook even after a fast food place or a waiter.

Worked for three and half years in a deli on the weekends. Nice thing was, we got a rush in the morning for bagels and stuff, another rush for lunch stuff like coldcuts and sandwiches and the rest of the time I just stood around doing nothing.
Bad thing was the one time I cut a nice piece of finger off on the deli slicer. Healed fine, just got a nice scar to remind me to pay attention. Was talking to a regular customer, looked up to say something, and SLICE.

Camp counseling is hard if you work with little kids though...I did it for a few years...pay sucks...but the tips are pretty good...make sure you try to get a job in a rich people camp out on Long Island or something.

I've had a lot of summer jobs. Hated all of them. Come on... it's work and, you're unskilled. You can't expect to get paid well or treated well.
My least hated summer job was landscaping. (fancy name for pushing a lawnmower) It wasn't too bad. Got a good tan. Didn't have to be nice to people. And, whenever it rained, I got the day off. Made decent money and, was so tired after work that I never spent any of it.
Which reminds me of the most profitable summer job I ever had. Worked on a fishing charter baiting hooks and cleaning fish. It was a lot of work. But, paid VERY well. And, Again was completely exhauster after work so saved a ton of cash that summer.
Big brown... what?

Physical labor (e.g. landscaping) is not something I'd be good at and I can't stand children.

Most of the Home Depots have temporary jobs for the summer during their busy season. They hire students to do grunt work. Lift shit, fill shelves, yada yada yada....My nephew just got hired by them. The pay is pretty decent too. He's getting $10 an hour but they already told him he won't be staying on after Labor day.
Have a great day!
