Yeah, the motor one is more of a pet peeve than actually being incorrect. Or is it just semantics? IMO, motors are electric and engines use combustion.

but motor boats are combustion, right? There might be a large and broader definition of motor than just electric.

There is. I admitted I was wrong and it's just a pet peeve. Btw, IMO means "in my opinion".

A motor is, by definition, anything that turns energy into motion. So, again, I'm wrong. Happy?
