Zane's A-T Marathon - Sept. 12, 2009 - 0rz0ski - 08-24-2009
The big announcement this morning was indeed that Zane is going for another Triathalon to support Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T). This time, the Triathalon will be on September 12, and Zane has a challenge for us, the listeners.
Zane has requested that we sponsor Zane a dollar or cents amount per minute, for every minute that he is in the triathalon. He expects that it will take him around 2 hours (120 minutes). He is in the Chariot event, which means he'll be pulling one of the A-T children behind him for the duration of the race.
Here's the breakdown of the math:
$0.05 per minute $6.00
$0.10 per minute $12.00
$0.15 per minute $18.00
$0.20 per minute $24.00
$0.25 per minute $30.00
$0.30 per minute $36.00
$0.35 per minute $42.00
$0.40 per minute $48.00
$0.45 per minute $54.00
$0.50 per minute $60.00
$1.00 per minute $120.00
$1.50 per minute $180.00
$2.00 per minute $240.00
$2.50 per minute $300.00
$5.00 per minute $600.00
$10.00 per minute $1,200.00
Zane has promised that he will not 'throw' the results, as he has pledged $20 per minute ($2,400).

Biff, can we use your pay pal account to make donations to? and throw one giant lump at the show on behalf of the entire board?
I personally would love to be able to give $100 or even $1,000 but facing facts means it'll be much less.
Maybe we can get back on their good graces if the smite board makes a donation (as a whole) of $1k or something! :clap:

We will be un-able to collect all donations from the board and present them at once.
But if you could please make a note when you make your donation saying that it is from the spite board or the LISTENER RAN message board that would be cool. I'd like to see how much we can raise!

As of this morning, listeners have raised $163.04. Good, but we've got more to go.
Zane also announced this morning that companies that wish to sponsor him can do so for $1, and they will get mentioned on the air.

Useful information YESTERDAY!! I kind of felt like my original donation wasn't enough anyway. But when you are going by a per minute rate, you never know what could happen. After he finishes the race, i'll take the difference in the total of what I wanted to contribute and what Zane's time turns out to be and send it to you Biff.

1) Pledge a dollar or cents amount per minute here.
2) Donate a flat amount here.
3) Donate via Biff as a member of the Spite Board, via PayPal, at biff mayhem at yahoo dot com.

Also, to ramp it up, Zane said if they get the equivelent of $10,000 a minute, after all of the flat donations and pledges are in, he'll get a Mr. Ten Tramp Stamp. A lofty goal, but let's see that happen!

I didn't realize Zane was writing personal "thank you" notes to everyone that donates, that was a nice surprise. Shame the 10K probably won't happen, but $550/min is still pretty substantial money. Still a very impressive work by Zane considering the relatively short time period and little advanced planning.
