Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | That ambulance angle is the most embarassing thing I have ever witnessed. Does Vince think we are all so stupid as to buy into this crap? There are cops on standby to stop Austin from tackling Angle in the ring, but there are no cops to stop the nWo from "almost crippling" the Rock in the ring. And then there are no cops in the parking lot to stop them from destroying the amublance? And then Lawler and Ross say that the show should stop? They weren't so uppity when they watched Owen Hart die in front of them. That Rock/Hogan angle was going so well until that parking lot shit. I was even thinking about considering to watch the match. Now I'm questioning Vince McMahon's sanity. I have three Wrestlemania tickets for sale. Anyone want them? This message was edited by Leaking Nipples on 2-18-02 @ 10:33 PM

O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | Well, it is supposed to be obvious dude. It was just to show how "low" the NWO is. ISnt the point of the NWO to wreak havoc on the WWF and its stars? That is what they did. That whole 30 some minutes was classic, especially the interview. Rock saying that stuff to Hogan was unbelievable. You could ask yourself, how the fuck could Rock say that stuff to a legend like Hogan, but that is what made the interview that much better. And who ever thought we'd see those 2 in the same ring? The whole truck angle was so that Rock could rest up till WM18, which will make his apperence in that match mean so much more. On a side note, is anybody else, other than me, enjoying the rock getting his ass kicked every single week? Sometimes we can choose the path we follow. Sometimes our choices are made for us. O&A Board Regular Registered: Dec. 00 | The Rock-Hogan segment in the ring was one of the best segments Raw has seen in a very long time. And then they ruined the whole mood of the night with the ambulance crap. I understand you have to establish the nWo as the major heals, but can we do something realistic? How about just jumping him in the back and bash him with baseball bats or something, instead of doing what they did, which is just ridiculous. And its funny how they broke to a long camera angle, and how did Hogan back up 100 feet in like 3 seconds? And if Hogan is going full speed head on into the ambulance in his truck, I think he would have caused some damage to himself in the process. This was almost as dumb as when Austin came back and fork lifted Triple H in his car up and then dropped him down. That one was actually stupider than this one, and for some reason I dont think JR had such a big problem with that one as this.

O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | Who the hell called The Rock the greatest of all time? Last year he said the same thing to Austin that he said tonight to Hogan. He said the two greatest stars in wrestling will battle at WrestleMania. I felt like throwing my beer at my TV. It should be Austin vs. Hogan. Or atleast make a huge six-man tag match, now we will probably see 3 individual matches, most likely Austin/Hall and the other one being another edition of HBK/Nash. I am damn glad that the Rock is taking time off. I like it when it's quiet...

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | How can you have a greatest of all time match without SCSA? They gotta drop Angle vs Austin. That won't sell. I thought the ambulance angle was vintage old school. Except I thought the NWO had hit the wrong ambulance and they would pull out a dead old lady. The Rock/Hogan promo was one of the best ever. Finally, a match I can't wait for. Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | I'm gonna have to disagree with you guys, the ambulance thing was, as one of the WWF's biggest critics, Dave Metzler, said on the Observer site, MONEY! The problem is you can't build the nWo as just guys who beat the shit out of the Rock 3-on-1. How the fuck is THAT supposed to get over? The nWo has done that 10,000 times before. It has lost it's edge. Yeah, it got them over in 1996, but they did that for the following three or four years until it got old. And yeah, the nWo got huge pops last night, but after the "newness" wears off, if the WWF doesn't portray them as animals on the scale of what they were in WCW at the beginning, they'll lok old in every fan's eyes again real quick. They have to do chaos and destruction, and they did that. This is throwing Rey Mysterio Jr. like a dart in the wall. This is Stone Cold Steve Austin driving a zamboni into the ring and attacking McMahon the night after he lost the belt to Taker and Kane (and don't give the "it was so unrealistic" bullshit with this if you're gonna look at THAT moment as a a "classic," which most people do), this is exactly what the angle needs to portray the nWo as: the guys who will destroy every WWF member one by one until there is no WWF as Vince keeps on saying. If they DON'T go over the top, then it will be three old men beating guys up in the ring. In other words, it will be JUST ANOTHER STABLE. After the WCW invasion where the WCW guys became just another stable, they can't make that same mistake twice. If they made the Alliance THIS evil and THIS destructive, the WWF wouldn't have had to kill off what should have been the biggest money drawing angle of all time. Criticize if you want, but I had some reservations about how the WWF would handle a BIG angle again (they had been doing fine, if unspectacular, yet still solid, after the Invasion, I thought, without a major angle that was the main focus of the program to deal with anymore, now with the nWo, they had a big angle again, just like with WCW, and we know how that went). I liked how they were used Sunday, I LOVED how they were used last night. THIS is money. THIS is a proverbial dark cloud hanging over the WWF, just like the dark cloud that hung over WCW when the nWo first came. THIS is exactly what the nWo should be like. Was it different? Yes. Did it go overboard? Probably. But did it get the job done? In spades. It will get people talking. And it won't be for the wrong reasons like the Alliance invasion. The only thing that might have hurt it is the King and in particular JR ruined it a little bit by overdramatizing it. They should have let it speak more for itself, and I don't think it would have come off as overboard. However, JR didn't let it breathe, and sold it a little too much like he did when Owen Hart died almost. But, then JR has been overrated for awhile now, and has really lost his edge of not knowing WHEN is going too far. That said, as sad as JR has become as an announcer, it's better than how Michael Cole would have sold it. It doesn't take enough away, though. This is, as Metzler said, something that will be talked about 20 years from now in a positive light. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO! This message was edited by Hello! Hello! Diamond Dust! Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | I thought this was one of best Raw's in a long time. This is the first time I've watched it from start to finish. Usually I fall asleep with about an hour left or tune out and come back at the end. The whole NWO angle is going to be good, but like it was said before, it has to be done on another level that hasn't been covered yet. It would of been a great bit, if king and JR hadn't just killed it. I don't want to see King sitting there with a sad look on his face. I want him laughing hysterically. I was waiting for after the commercial break to come back and see them both holding and caressing each other.... Hanger-On Registered: Feb. 02 | I can't believe that JR was so upset about SCSA getting hauled off to jail, I mean c'mon, it's been what a year or better since that happened. Then for him to go on about it like it was the worst thing to ever happen. He was so upset that the nWo wouldn't come down and fight Austin, it sounded like he was going to cry. Then the nWo smashed Rock with a semi while in an ambulance, I think they stole that from Austin, and that was so terrible, I thought he was tryin out for a soap opera. Maybe he could be a new WWF writer, HA!
