| Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01  | Recently joined Columbia House's DVD club so I'll be giving them my firstborn and promise to purchase 36 DVD every week from them. For 1 cent and the aforementioned I got... Snatch The Exorcist: The Version You've Never Seen Good Will Hunting Special Edition Version Almost Famous and The Matrix I'm looking to pickup the Godfather and Soprano's Season 2 sets. I watched my buddy's Godfather with the special features. The behind the scenes footage alone is worth the price of admission. Can you believe the studios nearly stopped Coppola from hiring Brando? | Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | The godfather set is definetly worth it but one thing that bothers me. The widescreen it elongates the people cause they didn't use the black bars to condense the picture. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | I recently picked up Episode 1, Shrek, and FF:TSW. Shreck & FF are excellent flicks on DVD, and the extras are very cool (The FF Thriller video makes it worth buying). Ep. 1 is ok, but the video, sound and extras make the disc a good buy. And Doomper... quote: I would normally agree with this statement, but in Lucas' case, he felt that his THX production working with Dolby 5.1 gave am equal if not slightly superior sound than straight up DTS. Personally, the sound rocks on my Home Theater, and its easily the one disc I have so far that equally duplicates the "being in the theater" feeling when watching it. I'm not sticking up for the cash cow, but I gove credit when its due. Another one I picked up last week is Star Trek - The Motion Picture. I know there are other Trek-fans on this board, and if you haven't picked it up on DVD, you should. The movie had been re-edited so its not as slow, and the print has been substantially cleaned up, as well as digitally enhanced ala Star Wars:Special Edition, but it was done very discreetly, so as not to take away from the film. The Commentary by Robert Wise sheds much light on a movie that even I considered as boring at one time. There are also a lot of extras included, which is a first for a Trek DVD release.
