I remember Otto & George talking about a short film they did. Jim Bruer was in it as a stand-up comedian named Tony Metropolis. The name has stuck ever since. The best name on the board, in my opinion, is Spuds Buckley because I remember where that name cae from.

I have done all of my own landscaping on our property where we built a new home about 5 years ago. You can not dig a hole here without coming out with about a 50-50 mix of dirt and you guessed it...rocks. I kiddingly refer to our house as the Rockmoor Estate.

OPM's one of my favorite bands. I love how nobody knows who the hell they are and keep asking me if it stands for opium. Or Opie-um.

Hmmm... now where on earth could I have gotten the idea for "The Brain"? :)

Actually, my main inspiration came from the Orson Welles outtakes the boys played on the air, and I remembered that Pinky and the Brain had done the exact same thing almost verbatim, so I went with that.

Even before I heard him on O&A, I was a fan of Jay Mohr's "Action";

I figured that his Peter Dragon character was an obscure enough reference to qualify as a decent name.

Katya_ann is the half Russian translation of Kitty Ann, or Shadowcat, from eXcalibur, the X-Men. I'm friggin' obsessed with her. She's my favorite character so far in the X-Men, along with Nightcrawler and Pete Wisdom.

I wish I'd browsed the board a little more before I chose a name, though, because I would have picked an O&A related name. I wanted to be Fresca, but that was taken in some form. Also thought CupOfDirt would've been fun, too.

I like your name just fine katya_ann. In fact I think some of the best names on here aren't show related. No one says that it has to be board related. I think that was a ploy started by some newbies to show that they actually knew some what they call obscure(even though I have yet to see one that I didn't know therefore making it not obscure) show reference.

Glad you like it king...but unfortunately it is starting to wear thin on me...I have a few others to choose from once I get back onto photoshop to edit them down to size...And I agree with Maynard about not needing a show related name, while they are cool, sometimes the non-show related names are just as great.

thought it was a cool name for a bitchy demented stoner hippy chick, also goes along with my red hair (and as a bonus, Spitfire Records = Zakk Wylde's label)-- no I did not pick the name after the WWII plane

the 421...well, I'm usually late for just about everything

And Skitch4u, you are right about not having a show related name, but I think soon we will see lots of new ones.

I love the old Lost In Space series. It was so campy and saccharine that I could not get enough of it. Like the episode where they land on the planet of intelligent, talking vegetables and they veggies get mad that the Robinsons eat vegetables and try to kill them...but I digress
I was always a big Doctor Smith fan, I love how he was like Gilliagan, they would always find a way to get home, and he would screw it up. It's still one of my favorite interviews, just because it shows how funny something that is completely spontaneous and unexpected can be
It's an old school show reference, but I like it
