Words cannot accurately express or reflect the surrealism that has befallen us today. To call this our generation's Pearl Harbor would be an understatement...

I wanted to take a brief moment to express my sympathy and my condolences to any and all members who are being directly and indirectly affected by this misfortune. For the thousands of injured and dead, the pain will be felt by millions more countrywide. My thoughts and those of this board go out to you and to yours.

This is a tragedy of epic proportions, may those responsible be swiftly and justly punished and those who were casualties be faithfully and happily remembered.

It is difficult in the expressionless state of shock and frustration to realize the depth and impact of what has happened here today.

It should give one pause and make one think of how truly meaningless and trivial many of our problems are. This is a time to show solidarity and heart, to forget differences and remember the ties that bind us not only as Americans but as common people.

-Matt

Today yet another generation of American's lost their innocence along with all too many American's losing their lives. This was an act of cowardice that needs to be punished. I hope that anyone on this board who has friends or family members directly affected by this incident has gotten in touch with their loved ones and do not have to worry about any funeral arrangements. To the NYPD, NYFD, and the EMTs from all over New York....your braveness will never be forgotten...may you be safe..and may you be making rescues and not body recoveries...

My heart goes out to everyone....

why do I say I'm fine when it's obvious I'm not?
why's it so hard to tell you what I want?
why can't you just read my mind?

My condolences to anyone whose families or friends were involved in this terrible tragedy. After hearing the news at school we were let out early and I haven't stopped crying since. Four of my friends have already gotten word that their fathers have died and one of my teachers lost her husband. Her husband called her right after the first plane crashed. He left a message on her cell phone to tell her how much he loved her and their kids and that he would wait for her in heaven. I still haven't been able to get in touch with my mom and sister who were both in that area. All I can think about is how it's my nephew's first birthday today and I hope my mom and sister will be able to see him again. I'm so worried but I guess all that i can do now is pray for not only my family but for everyone. By the way, If anyone is as upset as I am and wants to talk, IM me @ redhot376.

I have late classes so my mother woke me up to tell me what was going on and i couldn't believe it. When i saw the second tower go down live i didn't know what to say. My heart truly goes out to all those who lost their lives today and their families, and my deepest repect goes out to all of those who have helped in any way, from police, to EMT's, to firefighters, and blood donors.

Seeing the Palestinians celebrating our loss made my blood boil!

I feel for all of you who have lost loved ones, and a piece of our skyline that will never be the same.

A friend of mine works in the DEP, she says do not drink the water. There could be harmful chemicals like Asbestos in the water so just in case, stay away from the tap. If you don't hear anything about this then fine, but for now, don't drink the water.

I heard about todays events almost as soon as it happened. I was sitting in English and one of the students had a fire pager. It went off and he left the class to listen to the message. He stuck his head back in the class a moment later and said "The tower has fallen". My first reaction was a mixture of denial and shock. How the hell could a national treasure like the world trade center be here one minute and disappear the next. My personal way of dealing with this is driving down to the Army recruiter and giving them my personal information to contact me. If a war breaks out i want to be on the front line repaying those towel heads for this godless act of evil they've executed. So you'll all understand my absence if war is declared.

Froy, you are so right about that. While worrying about a friend that works in the North Tower my ex and I (who most of you know, hates me) had a conversation about just this thing. I don't know about him but after this tradgedy I am ashamed of my behavior. Life truly is a gift and should be cherished. This tragedy is a perfect example of what hate can do.
My prayers are all with the families and friends of everyone who's lives have been forever changed by this awful display of hatred. It's sick that innocent peole have to suffer for this sensless act. as for the people responsible, I fully believe what comes around goes around and they will be punished for this heinous (sp?) act.

Today has truly been a day that the world will never forget. My heartfelt condolences to all those who have been directly affected by the horrific events of this date. Never before has this kind of terror struck this close to home. Pearl Harbor was an Island thousands of miles from the US mainland, this was the hub of our nation.

Times like these should bring us together as a nation, standing proud, working together to rebuild that which has made us great. Forevermore, when we look at that magnifficent NY skyline, we shall see the gaping hole where once stood a modern wonder of the world. We will look, and we will remember, and we will always feel the pain that is in our hearts now. But when we look off the shores of the island of Manhattan, we shall see, still standing Lady Liberty. We will see her with her torch ablaze and we will remember all that for which this great nation stands.

God Bless the families of the victims, and have mercy on the souls of those who are responsible.

Currently newbieless...unbelieveable!

Today is the worst act of terrorism in our nation's history. Just watching the tv and seeing the tower fall and people jumping and screaming it was just like a movie.

I hope and pray for everyone who is dealing with this personally. I thank god, my wife quit her job there 3 weeks ago. Taking the ferry home today and just watching the smoke just made me start crying.

We can just pray for all their victims and their families.

The picture is too disturbing. It's way too reminiscent of the image of the USS Arizona half-sunk yet still ablaze and billowing smoke.

The best wishes and sympathies of everyone are appreciated more than you know.
I learned today that i lost at least one friend.
We just went on a cruise together with our families in july. He was on the 105th floor, and by all accounts died as soon as the first plane hit(for his sake i hope he did)
The gutless, cowardly, goat fucking, filth ridden camel lovers that are responsible for this deserve endless suffering, and i hope that i can in some way help to inflict the endless pain that they are destined for.

Flock that picture summed it up. All day long I've had a lump in my throat over all this, but just couldn't let go. Even seeing the skyline from a scenic overview in Union,NJ didn't do it. That picture did. My heart goes out to all involved. Before we take care of them, let's take care of each other.
