OMG, I was more moved by a speech made by Newt Gingriech of all people than the President... Colin Powell did an excellent job as well...just show some emotion people! Reflect back to us that you're feeling just like we are!

That right there is big folks, and the most
important thing that GWB had to say. That
means any towelhead country that has bin-
laden or his supporters in their country, they
are going to get the shit.

EDIT: I'm by no means a big Hillary fan, but
you should have seen her in front of the
senate today - everything you guys were
looking for from GW she gave you. Damn, now
I know who wears the pants in that family.
DOUBLE EDIT: After her speech in NY I take
that back. she sucks ass. GW's phone
interview was very good. Lets go USA.

George didn't show any emotion, he didn't even look as if he was pissed off. After whats happened he should show the nation and the world just how outraged we are.

He showed no emotion at all. It was unbeliveable. Not even a fist pounding the desk or anything!!

To tell you the truth, i think it is better the way George W. did it. He acted calm and collected, he showed that the actions of the terrorists didn't phase him. The people responsible for this destruction want us pissed off and upset. Why give them what they want. Let them see that we are a strong nation and we can handle the situation. The air of confidence makes it look like we have something up our sleeve.

I just think that this is really not the time to be critisizing (sp?) the president. I really think that we should be standing together as a nation and show our unity. I didn't vote for George W. Bush, but jesus christ, i was scared as hell yesterday, i didn't know what was going on. This is our, country, if we don't stand together and support the people who are trying to protect us right now, i don't know what's going to happen.

And yes, i know, this all should have been prevented with airline security, and don't think i'm not pissed about that. It's because of people who think everything is discrimination. If you check one person's things more than anothers, they accuse you of being racist. Everyone is a little too PC in this country and it has got to change. Everyone is afraid to say or do anything. You ask a black man for his ID when he pays with a check and automatically he assumes you did it because he is black. This has got to stop. It's not because of what race you are, it is just a standard regulation to check ID.

Just like at the airport. Everyone must be thoroughly checked, white, black, green, purple, EVERYONE! If you feel this will insult you, don't take a plane. We really need to crack down and get rid of this PC bullshit!

i think that bush was just as stunned as anyone else. hell, his peeps wanted him to stay away from the white house last night, and he insisted on going back to prove that he is not affraid. just remember, it was reported that one of those planes was headed for the white house, but ended up in the pentagon. bush did say that this is a war, and the people responsible will be hunted down. we have to unite as a country and trust that the pres and his people know what to do.

METS IN 2002!!

thanks FN MORON...you know why

Jonesin,

This isn't political bashing. All that was happening is people expressing true emotions.

Here's an idea I've been pondering. Four plain clothes security personnel. Two int he front, two in the back. Armed and trained in hostage negotiation and hand to hand combat...on EVERY FUCKING FLIGHT.

El Al does this. I agree that it or something like it needs to be taken on. Anything less, imo, is insufficient.
quote:

the negotiator is a good idea, but not with weapons.it's far to easy to miss with a gun shot, and if you shot the wrong spot on a plane, the bullet goes out, and then you get massive decompression.but unarmed combat skills would work

It would have to be a really big gun to create a hole large enough to cause a "massive decompression" as to cripple an airliner so badly that it wouldn't have a chance to land... A chance the people on those flights didn't have. Bring on the armed security!

As far as the political discussion goes, I am choosing not to post my opinion (for or against GW) because it is really IRRELEVANT!
We are ONE nation with ONE leader elected by the laws of OUR COUNTRY. GW is who we have and whether WE like what he said, how he spoke, if he showed emotion or not isn't germane.

What is, as Froy pointed out, is how strong a leader he is perceived to be, especially now, by other nations. There is strength in numbers people, and whether you voted for him or not, as Americans (not republicans, democrats, etc.) we must stand behind him... or be perceived as weak by the world. Can we REALLY afford that now???
