| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 02  | ive been listening to O and A for the past 3 weeks...some dude at school said u could still listen to Howard Stern on the station that carries O and A..so I discovered them by accident!! I cant believe how friggin funny these dudes are..and now..like everyone i know listens to them..good shit the Buffalo statio has a good frequency..although its fucked when it snows..lol anyway when do they syndicate to Toronto? on second though..howard got booted coz of the CRTC.. Any other people from Toronto listening? | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | Welcome to the board. The syndication deal that started rolling out last June 7th included 20 (or was it 22) United States cities. It said NOTHING about Canada. So I really don't know. It might happen though, but it'll take some time. Check out the Syndication Underground forum for a cure for snowy day blues.

| Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Yeah, airing Opie and Anthony in Canada just plain wouldn't be worth it. The CRTC would totally cock-block anything they wanted to put on the air. I remember Stern, the most obvious precedence, facing a myriad of fines for stuff that he was doing. And the strangest part is, the CRTC takes offense to completely different things than the FCC does. "The bitches'll gitchas" would be protested by feminist groups in Canada and would be grounds for a fine. Whatever the end process would be I am sure that any Canadian station airing the show would have to neuter it so much as to make the Chicago airing sound like a "director's cut". Sad, but true.  Thank you to all the brave volunteers who brought us all together as a country, and thank you to those of you brave soldiers who will fight and have fought for our country. We are a free people because of your efforts. | ||||

One of the nice things about living in Buffalo (and there aren't many) is getting Hockey Night in Canada, and it's a 30 minute ride for the great strip clubs in Ft. Erie. I am sure that on Canadian radio you could have a girl come and and say "Yeah, I love to spread apart my labia and ram a dildo in and out of my vagina while strumming my clit." That would be no problem, but if you had someone use the word "nigger" or make fun of the handicapped or whatever it's game over. Depending on what province you're in they also have to edit PORN videos to remove the facials because they're "degrading"! Fuck, you'd never hear Norton in Canada if they had to remove everything that was degrading about O&A. Makes me glad I escaped the place (Canada). Just always remember the founding tenets of the two countries to figure this out a little better: USA = Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Canada = Peace, Order and Good Government ("Good Government"? Nice oxymoron!!!) Canadian radio is great in some ways, things that wouldn't make the radio in the states (any cussing) is cool there, but any racial issues aren't. I guess it's a trade off. | Psychopath Registered: Jan. 01 | I go to school up in Buffalo, and had to listen to O&A on SU for a looong time cuz the station they are on now used to be 92.9, Buffalo's Dancing Oldies. WHOOHOO!!! Stern blows now, but at least theres Opie and Anthony to pick upthe pieces in the afternoon. There's more than a buzz happening in Buffalo, it's a cult, getting out of control. Soon we shall rebel against to true evil plagueing the Buffalo area: Kiss 98.5 I am forced to listen to that homo-erotic-Destiny's Child playing-high school spirit-nickel and pennie collecting-top 40 "Casey Kasem every Sunday"-DJ Anthony-Janet and Nicholous Pickleous- f'ing staion everyday, cuz the "bitchas getchas" find O&A too offensive, and they would rather listen to crap than highly intelligent conversation and witty humor.
