Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 02 | Hey I know that Opie has the zappin done to his eye some times ago and seems fine (vision vise). Anyone else had it done and have problems? I am doing it next week and want pro and cons.

Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 70 | I was going to get it done about a year ago, but the doctor told me it wasn't worth it becuase I have 20-40 vision due to astygmatism. He told me not to get it done becuase you get bad night vision when driving (halos around lights), there's no certainty it will improve vision, and it could actually exprove your vision, or blind you. Your eyes get all crusty and dry all the fucking time too, supposedly. Plus the surgery regresses eventually, I believe HOW YOU LIKE ME KNOW, BITCH??!! Keep hacking, I'll keep posting New Poster with a question? AIM me Confirmed Kills: FoundryMusicJeff. This message was edited by OAAWITE on 2-21-02 @ 9:17 PM

O&A Board Regular Registered: Aug. 01 | This guy I worked with got it done. For some reason he went to Canada to have the surgery. He is now wearing glasses again. I am not sure if he ever went back for an explanation. I think he went to Canada because it was cheap, now he's paying for it. Our Flag always stands. God Bless The USA.

Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00 | I was at Wills Eye Center in Philadephia, PA. They are one of the leading eye care/treatment/reseach centers in North America. Not only do they feel that it is okay, they do the procedure there. I plan to have it done this fall ( I need to save up some cash). Let us know how your surgery goes, do you know what you current vision is? ex. (20/400) My Sig Pics are too Big.

Psychopath Registered: Aug. 01 | My co-worker is going in for it tomorrow morning. She mentioned all the side effects mentioned above, but she is still having the surgery. I have another friend that had it done and never suffered any side effects or long term damage. A lot has to do with the Dr. that performs the surgery. Do your research and get lots of references from previous patients. Good Luck. Thank You, Austin

Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | And really, it's hard to find unbiased information about the procedure too. Of course the guys operating the Lasik mills are going to be hyping it up and minimizing any potential side-effects. But notice that most people's eye doctors are the ones really playing up potential side-effects. In some ways they're being honest with patients, but in other ways they're being dishonest with "customers" that they're going to lose. A lot of these people like the cash cow of annual eye-exams and the like. The truth obviously lies somewhere in between. I really want to get it done myself though. Oh the sweet joy of not having irritated eyes from contacts, or getting rain on your glasses. Myopia blows. Psychopath Registered: Jun. 01 | Yeah, I'm going to have to do one eye at a time when I do it myself, obviously. I figure the second eye will probably be a better job because I'll actually be able to see the mirror better with the first eye ;) Thank you to all the brave volunteers who brought us all together as a country, and thank you to those of you brave soldiers who will fight and have fought for our country. O&A Board Regular Registered: Apr. 01 | I had the surgery last April. The whole procedure took about 15 minutes, and it was painless as can be. I had a little trouble the first few weeks with night driving, but I've had no complaints since. I was practically blind without my contacts, so it's still amazing to wake up in the morning and actually be able to see the alarm clock. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who qualifies.
