I have one but the problem is that cordless phones are now in the 900 mhz area and you need a higher freq. also cell phones you can't hear anymore since digital celluar came out the voice has been translated to digital code so you can find the freq. but you just hear beeps :D

yup..have an old one...don't listen to it that much anymore. Since 900 mhz and 2.4 ghz phones came about, you can't get much. The cordless phone convos used to be priceless! Listened to my hot next door neighbor have phone sex with her bf...heard the fat "cat" lady call some guy from the personals and describe herself as roseanne..ohh the good ole days.

Yep I have one also. I actually hear my neighbors some times in the 450Mhz range, but most are in the 45-50mhz range...Sadly I was also listening to my radio on September 11th which I could not believe what I heard, but going back to listening to neighbors calls I found out shit about them that I wish I never would have.

Ok.

One night I was listening and this guy called their house. It is a man and a women and they are married with 2 kids. The guy would ask to talk to the bitch and they would talk about him cumming on her chest which of course means she was doing him and shit like that when the husband is at work and the guy would always get to her house early to make sure he was out of there before the husband got home and you could always tell when he was leaving cause you would hear him just speed off.

Now when he was done with her, he would ask to talk to her husband, when talking to him he would always talk about jerking the guy off. It was sick. The guy would go into his kitchen so the wife would not see and he would keep telling the guy " I'm rubbing out a load right now, and told him how "he was rubbing his cock to his voice" and shit like that, and that was on a tame night...It was just sick and stupid.

Other than that I enjoy listening to the police foot and car pursuits within the NYPD and living on Staten Island I listen to the Newark and Jersey City PD and listen to there chases as well as what seems like lots of stabbings and shootings. It make for some entertaining stuff. The best time to monitor I would say is 10pm-6am that is mostly when the chases happen and when they need the aviation units.

I have never heard all that much really good stuff on the cordless frequencies, except for a few times.
One night, me and my buddies had it on, and there was this guy talking on the phone to his mom. ricky happened to live 2 apartments down from me and we all knew he was a realy strange dude.. so he is talking to his mom and then starts telling her that it is her fault that he has a small dick and that he cant get laid and he has to jerk off 5 times a day.. and the mother just listned and said ok ok ok.

Some people have an interest in what is going on out there. I have my FDNY scanner, I listen occasionally to what is going on out there(If I want to go take pictures at a fire scene, people do make money off of it) Also since I am on the job, it helped me learn a little more. You can find frequencies for any police department in books and online. Just if you have a portable one you better have a good reason for having police frequencies on it if the cops pull you over. At work we do monitor NYPD Special Operations Division radio(ESU,Aviation and Harbor) because sometimes they get the jump on us when it comes to responding to emergencies. As for the listening in on peoples phone calls, never heard anything more then some scratchy electronic noises.

I have one of the best scanners ever made, the Pro-2006. Believe it or not, Radio Shack made good scanners back in the 80's and 90's. It can be easily modified to receive cell phone calls. Of course, I didn't do the mod to my unit since it is now illegal ;). Anyway, listening to cell phones is boring because you don't know who the people are. Yes, there are still some people who use analog cell phones. It's more interesting to listen to your neighbors on their cordless phones and baby monitors (which is basically like having the room bugged for sound).

Turk you work with FDNY/EMS?

I spoke with an officer that works in Midtown North and an Officer that works in the 90th precint and they told me I would not be stopped if I was walking around monitoring my radio..Scanning is totally legal as long as you dont use it to commit a crime and escape from the cops, but in NY you also can not have a radio installed in your car.

Also just so nobody else can hear it when I am out with it I use an earpiece like the secret service use and nobody but me can hear it...If you want to see the earpiece I am talking about email me cause I dont want to plug it here. I also monitor NY/NJ Port Authority and NJ State Police.

I'm an FDNY Fire Dispatcher. I was under the impression that having Police frequencies in your posession was a no no. If it isn't I stand corrected. I used to listen to NYSP and some upstate fire frequencies when I was a volunteer fireman/EMT up there but the NYSP was just so friggin boring. It was cool however to listen to the local cops. Especially when it was a cop I went to school with pulling over and locking up someone we both went to school with.

Cool. Turk what shift do you work and what borough? I live out on Staten Island. And were you working on September 11th? While it happened or were you on the night shift, and do you have a scanner you use or do you have a radio issued by the department?
