| O&A Board Veteran Registered: May. 00  | They are on the air now. They said the following things. 1) They did not order the gag 2) Don asked for a face to face meeting with Ken and Opie. He was turned down. 3) They have no great love for O&A. They have no hatred for em either. 4) They were instructed by Ken Stevens not to comment. 5) O&A are welcome to come on and talk about it on their show. They have a history of whining "it wasn't us" and then down the road they will brag that they made station management give into their demands. Let their ratings destroy their future. Hard to tell at this point, especially because I don't know D & M's track record with management or if they are slick enough to instigate a radio war and then deny responsibility. I live in D.C., and I know a bit about Don and Mike, enough to say that is is most likely the latter. I'd say with almost perfect certainty. Look, here's how it is - Don and Mike are almost done. They are in the last 2 years of their contract (within the last year and a half, I believe), and their ratings are going down, hard. They have never found an audience in NY, and never will. The only place that they've ever been successful in is D.C. (unless you count the numerous worthless small markets like Greenville, SC, where there is NOTHING else on). O&A have won the war. They are the future, D&M are the past, but D&M desperately want one last hoorah to try and validate their pathetic careers (perhaps Don is delusional enough to think that he can salvage something). Believe me, on some level, D&M WANT this feud to happen, because it's really the only thing at all that will get them attention in the big markets like NYC, Boston & Philly. | Hanger-On Registered: Mar. 02 | i love o and a. let me get that out. i also have to say that d and m are pretty damn funny too. not as good as o and a, but a different style. did anyone ever think that this whole d and m vs. o and a might be a conspiracy set up by 102.7? like others have said...this controversy is causing o and a listeners to listen to d and m. 102.7 makes out well because of the extended listeng from the average fan. it's a good plan. all in all, who really cares? it'll all blow over soon. o and a are the best on the radio, howard is out, and thats it. he was king for a while, and now his time is up, as will o and a's time will eventually expire; humbling all... | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Jan. 01 | i must say i think management is trying to fuel the fire here to get more of the O&A fans to listen to Don and Mike, notice how things are heating up just as Don and Mike start in Philly, this is a great play by management to give Don and Mike a jump start in the ratings. Lets face it they have a lot of $$$ invested in D&M and are probably getting desparate since they are failing so whay not start some shit with the top show to get some much needed ratings for those fat slobs. | ||||

This is actually a pretty civil and rational discussion... Not just a "D&M/O&A suck, so you do too!" To touch on a few points. Anyone who has listened to D&M at all... They are not "in" with management. Will they do power plays? Absolutely. But they will also tell their listeners about it. As far as this being a stunt to get D&M ratings in NY and Philly.. And in a tit-for-tat situation, it is also helping O&A get ratings in DC. I'd guess they're trying to get the people who never have listened to the other show, and just blindly state "It sucks" to actually listen. IF this is all some form of stunt, which I doubt. Yeah, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't about "Come on our show and talk about it". You say that, then it's driving up ratings for your show, say "We'll come on your show and talk about it" same thing. The only way to handle it is to go on one or the others show without announcement. Painter has about the best point of anyone. Childish on all sides is the best way to describe this. Props to nullper as well.. Sometimes the fans take things way the hell too far as well. And the game was Teat-Tac-Toe. Too-Da-Loo.... ASS! | ||||

Why would people believe anything Geronimo says? At the second of his drug trials he was found to be lying about running from the arresting officer. He's been convicted twice on drug charges in the last 5 years, also about 6 or 7 years ago he was sued in civil court by a woman referred to on the show as "The Polky Dot Lady". this woman, a fan of the show, claimed that Geronimo forced her to perform oral sex on him in the front seat of his car. Geronimo would never answer questions about this on the air. Any one who doubts any of this can go to Washingtonpost.com and search their archives. Who is stupid enough to trust this guy? It's like the people who think OJ is innocent. | ||||

The good people of New York probably don't know about Buffalo, and Tampa, and Oakland and Worchester Mass, and Miami. Those are just off the top of my head without even thinking hard. Oh yeah , there was Dallas and Athens Ga. too, and others. Just trying to make a little point here. They talk about their show like it's so great. And their fans like the Jim Jones koolade drinkers, suck it right down. Answer this, in all those years of having naked girls come down, did they ever do their listeners a favor and put those pictures up on the web, like O&A do? Hell no, they do that for their own benefit, because how else would their sorry fat asses get to see girls. Sure, go to one their pitiful fans websites, and you might see some pictures with the heads cropped off. The businessmen at CBS know what the moneymaking shows are, and they are on in morning and afternoon drive. One last thing remember last year Don and mike tried to get in a pissing contest with Stern by trying to prevent Leah Remeny from appearin g on his show. They lost that one too. | ||||
