ICP and Russell Simmons are another story. I'm actually surprised that a large number of members here don't appreciate Bill's candid, in-your-face, no holds barred attitude toward his guests. | Hanger-On Registered: Oct. 00 | Bill O’Reilly does have a valid argument in criticizing the entertainment industry for corrupting our youth. However I think the movies are more to blame than TV….also IMO primarily parents and then teaching curriculums (re: Board of Regents)… should get there share of the blame as well. Children should be properly briefed in just what the difference is between humor/entertainment and just what is socially accepted behavior concerning respect for others. O&A were very good ….fortunately then weren’t held accountable for WOW stickers plastered all over the city……and the short lived promotion known s as R.A.P.E ……whew…………close call…. …..ICP also did well….I used to like them when they wrestled…they always have good rap and are excellent guests on the radio.....esp for the calls they get. My problem with O’Reilly, a person who I admire btw, is his basic argument ….if pursued and brought to its final conclusion would require censorship as the only remedy. I love irreverent talk radio ….it’s the only “politically in-correct" medium we have left….and I will not sacrifice broadcasters freedom of speech (my freedom to listen) for somebody else’s children.... ... Another poster pointed out FOX’s Married with Children TV show as part of the problem…..and I agree about its cringe factor. However it was one of our families favorites……but when ever something over the line happened I would hit the mute button saying “remember we laugh at them not with them†and they knew if they ever acted like that….well nuff said….finally... …..remember ….they didn’t decide to make it the “1st†Amendment just for shits and grins. | ||||

However, he really is a bit offbase here. It's one thing to put forth this special about the corruption of youth, about how Hollywood bears a lot to blame.....but to air the special on FOX??? THAT is really hypocritical, considering Fox's programming. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jul. 00 | I was flipping around yesterday and passed by O'Reilly's show on FX or whatever it is, and right before they came back from break there was a commercial for American Pie 2 on PPV. Obviously he has no control over the sponsors or anything like that; I just thought that was kinda funny.
