Well, tonight is the Bill O'Reilly special that he interviewed O&A for. Newsday had a little story on the show The Whys of a World Rated X

The one mention of O&A is opie giving that great quote "We're artists". It may not be as good as Ant's previously published quotes, but it looks like there will be a chop job tonight.

Fox News Channel star Bill O'Reilly gets an hour of Fox broadcast time to vent his anger at the entertainment industry.

Just by the quote, you know O’Reilly is going to twist and turn their words with this little commentary after they show O&A. This is one thing I hate about this guy, he will show a taped interview, turn around and rip a person a new asshole based on a taped interview. Give a guy a chance to defend himself… like we do with Rich Vo… oh wait that reference does not work.

Damn it was nasty!

I can't stand that O'Reilly dude... he is such a self serving chump. Every time I've caught his show he's always sucking his own dick by saying 'I'm the one who broke this story a million years before the competition' or 'this is a no spin zone.' Bullshit... he's so full of himself and his opinions. Whatever happened to the ideal impartial journalist? Fuck that guy.

Declaring yourself to be an artist entitles you to “extreme liberties”….

…..and I don’t see a problem with Anthony describing themselves as artists. For one thing since their performers they fall in the performing artists category…..

….also it’s a good political more since “artists” are entitled to court approved “creative license” entitlements that enable them to construe events….as they see fit. …..it protects them with a cloak of 'almost' virtual immunity. Most of us would get fired for repeating things in the office that they broadcast to millions.

…btw I’m a big fan of O'Reilly’s …..he’s the reason we got our DTV system ….usually the TV is tuned to FOX NEWS as a default. I’ll defiantly be watching the show tonight…..thanks again for the reminder.

for o'reilly this is a double misnomer, he's never claimed to be impartial. quite the contrary, his show serves to provoke not only his "guests" but also his viewers. and as far as journalism goes, he's no journalist he's an "infotainer." kind of a cross between jerry springer and larry king, no offense to springer or king intended.

Well, besides the fact that it was Opie , if you think Opie was thinking that much about that answer you must be listening to another show.

O'Reilly is entertaining, but it becomes so obvious that he pre-determines the outcome of the interview, and will chop it to pieces.

precisely, nobody goes on his show to actually express an opinion, that's a given. however, it's an ideal forum for publicity. besides, it should make great material for the show. just imagine the threads that'll pop up here after it airs.

Even if we share his gut instinct that the entertainment industry is at best indifferent to children's welfare, enticing them to come frolic in the sewer, we still deserve a real journalistic effort from the king of cable news, not just a rant.

I think that Newsweek is on the same page as most everyone else. They at least point out the fact that this isn't really journalism as its more of a sermon about how we are destroying youth.

exactly, he isn't a really a journalist, he is there simply to get ratings and to feed his own ego.

i don't think he gets ratings, he's a political analyst, nobody cares about what they say. they just offer up sound-bytes for their political affiliation. if you put a couple of these analysts together it can be quite entertaining to listen to them argue without actually saying anything.
