Just over a year ago, when we first moved off Infopop we held an impromptu logo re-design contest. We got a lot of great entries, and it has already been mentioned in other threads, so we thought we'd give it a try.

If you would like to design a new logo, give it a shot. The dimensions must be 600 x 75 pixels, and it should be no larger than 45K.

Entries should be posted in this thread. We'll judge them later in the week, or early next week when we have enough. And obviously it should fit the new look of the site. If we don't get any entries better than the new logo Gooch designed, we'll just stick with what we have.

Right now we're thinking that the prize will be a special mod-action. Meaning you will be given the chance to invoke one mod act. ie: Change another member's status. Ban a member for a day. etc.

i vote for mine (big surprise) b/c i thought simple and dramatic was way to go since the rest of the look is pretty busy enough with the posts, buttons, etc. I kind of think it ties the "room" together (Lebowski reference)...ok, ties the site look together.

That's my take...but of course, may the best one win. Happy Photoshopping.

I also like TheGooch's design, but doesn't it look like the "c" in OA.com is cut short or something. Maybe it's just the design of the font. It looks more like an "r". But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out it's a "c".

I like the new logo as well but would make just a couple of changes. Rather than do one to submit that would be a clear rip-off of the nicey-nice current one, I'll just explain my idea and if Gootch feels it, so be it.

1) Not a fan of that "C".
2) I would actually reverse the location of a few things:
Have the black-to-grey gradient & white spot reversed to the left hand side, with the pics of O&A moved to the right hand side. Pages, no matter what a users resolution is set at, are aligned to the left hand side of the screen. The words "OPIENATHONY.com" as the first seen tiem on the top/left would be ideal.

So essentially, I'd just slide the text parts to the left, put the pics of O&A on the right, and have the grey & white spot all the way to the left with the gradient turning to black on the right.

Great job though. If the current logo is the one that stays, it will still be money.

Froy- When you say "infopop", do you mean
this board used UBB format for a while?

NEW ONE: (The "C" yeah)...it's part of the font to the typeface, which i can easily adjust.

OLD ONE: Courtesy of DryBlood who did a great job on it.

My suggestion is you try to outdo both, and let time and those examples tell if we should go with either. Though I did one, I am in no way attached to it...and for the old one...as great as it was, it's time for a new one.
