Hoo Hoo Howard has been drumming up his next great idea. A Cribs take off done with Beetlejuice. That's a great idea which would be funny and original if you don't count the couple that O&A have already done.

When you think of it....Beetlejuice is a short, meaty breasted bald guy........

I know I'll be beaten into a little pulp for even mentioning this, but hasn't Stern been talking about what they did a couple years ago. He's been crowing about it cause MTV steals all his stuff, and he invented MTV.

This thread topic alone pisses me off, and not because I could give a damn about Stern, either.

What bugs me most about O and A, is when they stoop to the level of talking about the differences between their show and Howard's (or whoever else's).

This thread topic is likely to get them talking about it.

When someone else rips them off, or accuses them of doing the ripping, much show time is wasted on it.

Whether you can chalk this up to their real feelings needing to come out or just nothing else being planned for the show, I don't know. But the listeners deserve better than self-serving radio.

Listening to Stern argue with his crew for an hour about how John Stamos and the gang dissed stuttering john at Nobu is horrible. the number of listeners that have ever been there is small.

The only other thing I don't like is the inside jokes that only they (and a couple of radio people) would get.
Who outside of Boston should ever know who Bruce Mittman is?
reminds me of Imus always busting on Joel Hollander as if any listener should know or care who that guy is.

The moral of my post is this:
Don't waste time talking about your show, do your show.

It is probably the biggest problem in all of talk radio, other than listeners with blind loyalties that feel their heroes can do no wrong.

May I be both wacky and/or zany, and say the following:

"Hoo Hoo Howard invented (fill in the blank) Hoo Hoo"

Afterall, a fucking Stern thread wouldn't be complete without that!

Dudley, you're proving my point.

to dwell on such stupid things lowers the quality of both our show and our discussion here.

I guess my other point is that the fact there is an "enemies of the show" board proves my first point.

Why worry about enemies? Why not just let the hosts do a good show?

It's really not all that far away from religous zealots when you think about it.

Jersey....you gotta look at it this way: There are a ton of "hard-core" O and A fans. Some 26 year old virgins wait in line for the opening of Star Wars Episode 2, some wait patiently....Some radio fans will defend (albeit, sometimes blindly) their favorite radio personalities, others could give a rats ass. O and A know that some of their fans are interested in hearing about the rip offs...some fans just want to hear Norton talking about silver back transvestites.....I'm not sure how to phrase my point here. I think you know what I'm getting at, though.

I'm all for Howard doing a Cribs version of Beetlejuice's pad. In the wacky world of real radio characters.....Howard's Wack Pack, Stalker Patty, The retarded Laverne and Shirley, Tom Gavin, Dennis Murphy, etc......Beetlejuice stands alone when it comes to entertainment. I would love to see his little shack and see what some of those E! production dollars can do with the story.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
