| Psychopath Registered: Dec. 00 | Infinity in New York just really makes me laugh sometimes. Since they launched the FM tlak format on WNEW... HOO-HOO, a talk show, is on Krock, a music station Scott Ferrall does a sports talk show on an FM talker Don Imus does his morning talk show on WFAN, an all-sports station. I won't even harp on Eddie Trunk being on WNEW. Everyone in the english speaking world knows that for this format to work at it's best, it needs it's #1 morning show and it's #1 afternoon drive show on the same station. Now, for the NY situation, I doubt it would happen. But there are other ways around it. Granted, it's a format that would not be directly targeted at the 18 year old listeners of O and A. But if Infinity wanted to make a respectable FM Talker station, it could do so by just swapping a few other shows: Keep HOO-HOO on KRock. Keep their cash cow happy. WNEW: Move Imus to the morning slot, followed by D&M, O&A, and R&F. Demographic wise, you are still appealing to the one that counts : talk radio listeners. And as the hours progress, you get more into the target demo for R&F which seems the same or even younger than O and A. WFAN: Move Mac and Sid to the morning slot, setup a mid-day show, AGAIN, with Steve Sommers and a partner. Keep Mike & Mad Dog in their current slot, move Joe Beningo to the PM slot, and have Ferrell do a local show for overnights. Ferrell's show was made to be an overnight show. His best numbers were in the overnight spot for Westwood One. I know, it's not a lineup that would appeal to most O and A listeners. But let's face it, WNEW needs a big change. It needs people to know it exists. The current lineup doesn't do that. and I think the station could actually benefit by having a more diverse lineup. Ideally, an imus-Chick-O&A-R&F lineup might have been the best, but D&M would do.  | ||||

Movin Imus to morningson NEW should be the llogical thing to do since wfan has other shows that pulls in ratings and truthfully i enjoy Ferrel in the mornin im a sports junkie so good to hear sports the morning after a big game instead of havin to listen to Imus or Hook nose.
