Okay folks, here are directions from most major points of NY and NJ. If you don't find your area or can't figure out how to get there, try www.mapquest.com

Train and mass transit are listed on the bottom of this post. The following are for people who plan on driving.

PARKING

There are meters in front of the hall. If you can't find a meter, park behind the Gulf Station across the street and let the guy at the pool hall know what your car plates are.

DO NOT PARK IN THE RITE-AID LOT. THEY WILL TOW YOUR CAR

From NYC and Queens

- Go into Manhattan.
- Go to the west side of town and take the Lincoln Tunnel to New Jersey. For moron that don't get out much and don't have a clue as to where the tunnel is, the tunnel entrance I recommend is at 41st Street and 11th avenue.
- As you exit the tunnel in New Jersey, stay to the extreme right. You will see a sign for Hoboken. Take that exit.
- Go straight about 1/2 mile. You will a bridge ahead of you.
- Cross the bridge.
- The pool hall is just past the second traffic light on your left.

From all points in New Jersey

The assumption here is that you know how to get to the New Jersey Turnpike and figure out north from south. If you don't know where the Turnpike is, STAY HOME. Just kidding. Email me, I'll be more specific.

- Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 16E (Lincoln Tunnel).
- After paying the toll, follow the road towards the tunnel.
- Stay in the right lane.
- Go about 1 1/2 miles to the Hoboken / Weehawken Exit and exit out.

VERY IMPORTANT - IF YOU MISS THIS EXIT YOU ARE EXTREMELY FUCKED. YOU GO INTO THE TUNNEL AND YOU'RE IN MANHATTAN, IN WHICH CASE FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS UP TOP FOR MANHATTAN

- As you exit, stay in the right lane.
- At the light bare right (don't make a right turn, just bare right at the light) down the hill.
- Stay in the right lane and follow the hill to the end
- Make the right turn at the bend (T in the road)
- After you turn, go into the left lane (right lane goes into the tunnel)
- Follow that about 1 mile. You'll see Dykes Lumber on your left and a gas station on your right.
- Take the bridge between the two.
- Once you go over the bridge, go down to the Merit Gas station and make a right at that corner. (You should see the MALIBU DINER on your right in front of you before you turn)
- After making the right, make the next left onto Willow Avenue
- The pool hall is on your left side about 100 feet down.

From Westchester and Long Island

- Find your way to the George Washington Bridge.
- Cross the bridge and follow the signs to Route 95 and Route 80.
- Take the express lanes (if you can, local also works)
- Go about 2 miles down and follow the signs for NJ Turnpike (Route 95) South.
- Take that road to Exit 16E
- Pay toll and stay right
- Follow the directions above for All Points New Jersey.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FROM NYC

- Find your way to Penn Station
- At Penn Station, find the NJ Path Trains
- Follow the sign and take the path train for HOBOKEN
- Get on train
- When you get to Hoboken, go above ground (hint: follow the crowd, they know where they're going)
- Once you're above ground, you have two choices 1. Walk or 2. Take a cab.
- The hall is about 1.5 miles from where you are. A cab will cost you about $4 bucks. There are usually cabs waiting at the station. If not, find a phone booth, you can find stickers.
- If the cab driver doesn't know where Willow Billiards is on Willow Avenue, get out and find another cab. He's a tool and shouldn't be driving.
- If you plan on walking from the station, go west 2 blocks once you're above ground to Washington Avenue.
- Take a right on Washington Avenue and continue to the end of it. This a very scenic route and you'll see most of the clubs and restaurants that haunt Hoboken.
- At the end of Washington, make a left
- Follow that down to Willow Avenue (you'll past Malibu Diner)
- Make a left and go 100 feet or so. Pool hall is right there.

Grumpy:

Just an amplification for those commuting from NYC via Public Transportation:

The PATH runs from 33rd Street and the World Trade Center.

To find PATH in the WTC, go to WTC #3 from Church Street. Subway lines 1, 9, E, N and R run to the World Trade Center (Cortlandt Street stop)

From Penn Station, you must go to the 33rd Street Station (on 6th Avenue/34th Street Herald Square) This station can also be reached from the B, D, F, N and R subway lines. In other words, this is not Penn Station. But, Penn can be reached via the 1, 2, 3, and 9 or the A, C and E subway lines.

PATH also makes stops in NYC, generally along 6th Ave. at 23rd, 14th, 9th and Christoper Streets, directly to Hoboken.

PATH stations in New Jersey are at Newark, Harrison, Journal Square, Grove Street, Exchange Place, and Pavonia/Newport.

Note of caution: Weekend schedules differ from weekday schedules; trains do not run as often and late-night service is very infrequent.

For more information call:

1-800-234-PATH

Also, for NJTransit call:

1-800-772-2222 (In NJ)
1-973-762-5100 (Out-of-State)

I Thought I'd add a few things. Grumpy's directions are right on, so follow them to the letter.

But, from personal experience, parking WILL be an issue. The spaces out front of the pool hall and the ones in the Gulf Station Parking Lot add up to about 10 spaces total and you are competing with all the residents. Also the Gulf Station is open during the day and they probably won't let you park there. So, you will have to search out spots in the neighborhood. I suggest you continue past the hall and turn right at the light after the Rite Aid. Then, hunt the streets that way for spaces. Be careful of the one-ways and don't mind the Beruit-Feel of the neighborhood. If you turn left toward the center of town you will have little or no chance of finding spaces. I highly suggest carpolling or mass transit.

As for Public Transportation, another option is the NJ Transit 126 Bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal (Gate #204). The Path is great, except the Pool Hall is on the exact opposite corner of Hoboken than the Path Station which will mean a good 20-30 minute walk or a cab ride (not that it's expensive, though).

If you take the 126, the stop is just after the bus turns onto 14th Street in Hoboken (After you leave the tunnel, the bus will go up over a bridge and turn at the second light...right after this turn, push the STOP button). The stop is in front of the Malibu Diner and you can always ask the Bus Driver for that stop. The Pool Hall is right around the corner on Willow Ave.

Dan and Buttmunch -

Thank you both for adding your directions. You both made very good points that I left out.

One other point that I should make is that the Port Authority Police Station is in front of the tunnel's entrance. DO NOT SPEED. They have traps set up all over (visible and invisible). The PA cops love nothing more than writing tickets and making DWI stops. That's all they do.

One more thing
If this were last year, I would suggest parking at Stevens Tech. It's on the other side of Hoboken, but they have a few parking lots (which are free) that are rather empty on the weekends.
However, if you were thinking of parking there this weekend, don't. They have been ticketing those lots like Nazis over the past few months. On nights when their buttplugs are especially eskew, they have been known to tow.
So the moral of the story is, if you don't know how to parallel park, learn.

Okay people, I want to clear this up and quickly!

Parking is not an issue at 3 PM. I repeat it is not a major issue. If you drive around, you'll find plenty within a few blocks around the hall.

People are being scared off from coming because of the parking situation.

Relax! It's not that bad.

Thanks for the info Grumpy. I was a little worried after reading about the parking situation. Some made it sound like a damn war zone around there. :)
I'll be showing up early just in case. I don't want to be driving around forever looking for a space and then show up late.
See you all there.

OK, I guess I'm to blame for the parking scare.
To clarify: you will be able to find spaces.
I have no problem. But, you might have to
search a little and I suggest you search in the
manner I outlined above.

I still encourage carpooling because we only
have one planet.

Thanks again Grumpy!!
See everybody there.
Also don't forget to bring CHANGE to feed the meters. Don't think they take dollar bills or credit cards.
Max them out so you don't have to keep running back.
