One time he thanked them for finding some scat site that they used. Skateboard stand? Showing how in touch they are, eh? Idiot. The joke is that Opie is out of touch...being almost 40, and acting like he hangs out at the latest hip spots for youngsters. Don has an 18 year old kid, I'm pretty sure he knows that kids don't hang out at skateboard stands. And Leah Remini is so much better that a Surly Truck Driver? Leah wasn't brought in as a comedian, she was just brought in to feed off of D&M. One difference, D&M is still funny (hoo hoo, probably just ruined my credibility. I think D&M are funny oh no!) without Leah, but O&A isn't as funny without Norton. Well, Anthony is, but face it: OPIE IS NOT FUNNY. Although he IS very good at laughing, agreeing, and saying "yeah." One example lord, that's all I be askin'. Maybe you should listen to O&A more...or maybe you're in denial. Hell, I listen to O&A every afternoon, and everything Don said made sense. Now, take that 20 years of radio that I've heard D&M, and compare it to the 1 or 2 years I've heard O&A. So naturally most everything I hear on O&A, I've already heard on D&M. How long have O&A been on the air, mid-90s? D&M still have 10 years on them. I didn't make that "rip-off" statement in the first place, but I'll try answering, I heard Mike doing impressions long before Anthony did (although I do admit Anthony is better at the voices...Mike has maybe 3 that are dead-on, but Anthony is better overall). I've heard Opie bash rockhole for stealing ideas, and in the same breath say, "Ok, it's time to take calls for our what-would-you-do contest!" Yeah, a what-would-you-do contest is real original. The bottom line is, anyone that doesn't realize that radio shows do the same material is an idiot. I heard D&M play that "I hate this place, I've been here for 7 years, nothing works here..." clip long before O&A, but that doesn't mean O&A ripped them off, it means they watched the same show. Don has said it many times: Radio is the lowest of the low, everyone steals from everyone, and, of course, Howard invented it all. For every thing I can say O&A ripped from another show, I can say that same show ripped from O&A or another show. If you talk for 4 hours every day, chances are you're going to talk about the same thing. The whole "ripped off" argument is moot, and anyone that tries to make it should fall down a flight of stairs. | ||||
