| Hanger-On Registered: Dec. 01  | I've been listening to O&A since Sept11th regulary. Before that i never really got into them. Now i listen everyday at the office and am totally hooked. Anyway i always wondered what Anthonys BONE DRY WODDLE DOODLE thing was until i found a live356 feed of thegreaseman, and then his website, god what a train wreck, i cant even smile at anything that goes on at that train wreck he calls a show. Did o&a rip on him alot back in the day because they hardly talk about it ever, just that obscure impression. I'd have a whole show about how horrible the greasman is hehe, you have to check out the videos on his site http://greaseman.org/ It's just unreal.. Anyway anyone got info? I never knew the backstory either but from what I've gathered from the bits he used to do his show in DC and got booted for making a joke about James Byrd (the black guy pulled to his death behind a pickup truck in Texas). I checked out some of those MP3's--I'd never heard the real Greaseman before. I can't listen to that voice after hearing Ant's rendition.  | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Dec. 01 | Sigh, im just trying to help the thread, im sure ALOT of people have never heard of him, i know i havent until i found the feed, and it's unreal how horrible it is, i mean i'll sit there 30 min and try to get a reference point to accually understand what the hell he is talking about. | Psychopath Registered: Feb. 01 | I used to listen to him on K-Rock back in the early 90's. He was slightly funny. The rest of the time was a lot of really shitty attempts to do dick jokes and make himself sound funnier than most. Most times he sounded like a tool. Let me light your fire I love the kindredbabe, the MamaCaz, the SyKoPaThCHiK, and especially the RF and my little walking Disaster Area!!!! | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Jul. 02 | Ok, here's the Greaseman story... Grease was hired by DC101 in the early 1980s after Stern was fired from the station. His act revolves around lots of impressions and stories that he ad libs during the show. When Grease was at DC101 he used to have a live studio audience - the show was very, very popular here in DC after Don & Mike left morning drive. Sometime in the mid-80s Grease made a joke about shooting Martin Luther King Jr. and was taken off the air for awhile, only to return to DC101 again in a couple of days. Flash forward to the early 90s - the Greaseman show was really popular on DC101 and he was offered a syndication deal on Westwood One (along with Don and Mike, I think). Grease moved his show to LA and started doing nightime drive. He was on from 7-11 here in DC on WJFK. Syndication wsa horrible - probably because a lot of his jokes were aimed at a local DC audience. He soon lost his syndication deal In the late 90s he was hired by a classic rock station here in DC. That's where he made the statement that everyone thought would ruin his career. While playing a Lauren Hill song he said "Now I know why people pull them(African Americans) behing trucks. He was fired and didn't surface again until now... Grease was (and still is, I'm sure) popular with local DC area law enforcement and firefighters. When he had the live audience it was filled with cops... I think the guy has some talent but the show isn't for everyone. When I listened (as a teenager) I thought he was damn funny. | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Dec. 01 | I dont get his humor at all haha. I saw his videos and stuff they are soo horrible, i mean it's worse then fart jokes. I dont know, growing up on Howard and now a die hard o&a fan i just cant stand fake radio. His voice is so retarted, i hate people who do schticks i guess. I've tried to listen to his show but it's so hard to follow, it's like chaos, everything has a sound effect and some music under it. He definatly has some talent, maybe to run a board faster then is humanly possible, and can riff on his own without bouncing off other people or passing it to someone else. But i think this is just signs of a pure mad man.
