| Hanger-On Registered: Nov. 00  | What is the differece between Opie saying "wait and see" about there upcoming contract and Howard Stern saying he was not going to sign his contract. When Howard did it Opie always said "That old gag"? O&A are doing the exact same thing, they are not saying that they will walk, but they are not saying they will sign on. Just Curious as to what lies ahead for O&A. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | There is a difference saying that I will never resign my contract and I am tired of doing it and than resigning anyaway. Howard tried to get as much attention and as much press as possible to think he was retiring. Even when he had signed the contract he gives some bs to his listeners, saying his contract was done minutes before the press conference and he did not lie to his audience about not knowing what the deal was. O&A saying we will see is different because they still have not resigned their contracts with WNEW and are fielding other options such as Clear Channel, so they can do what is best for them. I would hope if they sign in the next 2 weeks, that they would tell us. Which I am definitely sure they would do. So in conclusion, Howard is a pompous, conceited asshole who thinks his shit don't stink and O&A are just using what ever leverage they have to put them in a better situation. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I have a feeling that O&A would be likely to set their demands too high for WNEW to hit, and I'm not talking about money. I'm talking about... 1) Syndication. Probably to a bunch of major markets. 2) Gag order gets lifted. Since the order came directly from Mel Karmizan (well, first demanded by Howie, but Mel's the boss), this is gonna be really rough for Ken and Jeremy to pull off. Syndication is probably a lot easier than the gag order in this case.... which is why we may see O&A on a Clear Channel morning show really soon.  Me droogies: Two positions currently available. | ||||
