| Hanger-On Registered: May. 01  | ok. I couldn't listen to the last 1.5 hrs of the show. What I learned today (I think) 1) Fact. O&A have a 3 month blackout period in NY. 2) guess. O&A are going to be moving to LA 3) guess. O&A are being picked up by CLEARCHANNEL Communications. 4) guess. O&A will be BACK in NY SEPTEMBER 1st on ..... Q104 IN the morning against howard the supreme king of all assholes. 5) prediction... Howard will "retire" for good in December 2001 after the first year of his 5 yr 10 mil contract, and the REAL MEL Karmazin will be shitting in his pants, when he realizes that the boys were HIS for the taking. 6) Fact: Don & Mike were complaining about the top infinity brass this evening around 8:15. They were upset that one of their favorite guests from a CBS tv show was ordered to GO on The Asshole's shoe. 6) FACT: I am happy to report that my new years resolution of 2001 (made when I found out King shit wasn't going to retire last december). I also committed to myself I would NOT listen to the sports jerks in the morning (even with added sluts). So far I've made it thru ALMOST 1/2 year without listening to either of those tools. I wish...) has been sick 3 days, so my 7 year old potty mouth wouldn't leave me alone for 5 minutes to hear the last week of shows for 3 months. So, am I reasonably on base or not? did the boys say anything else after that? I actually doubt LA, 'cause of the time difference. I'd guess better BOSTON, where they "hailed" from ,with us as the new poor relations. can someone else comment, besides pointing out how stupid NOT us newbies (some of us at least) can be? | Hanger-On Registered: May. 01 | #1 Fact. I called the show tonite, and asked the screener what was their "blackout" period. he said 3 months. For those who missed it last week, the boys themselves mentioned they might be off the air a bit in NY, but didn't say how long. I have been calling and asking this question to them for about 5 weeks now, and this was the FIRST time I ever got an answer. before this, It was always, we'll tell you when it's time. WELL IT's TIME. #2. I have been a member on this board in the past, & ruminated about the demise of HOWeird (aka King shit). I really hate Mel for re-signing king shit. I personally think king shit hasn't done anything funny in at least 7 years, and has been resting on his laurels (read: ass) for the past 4 years, since Mel bought CBS. 3) I based my other GUESSES (and marked them as such. WHO the heck would pay for that? but the boys DID drop big hints today to PATTY saying NO more NY, and LA... I think boston is more likely, 'cause the boys would be in the same time zone, and will be on for howard in the morning. (boy will he die!) LA would need to be either a 6 hr show or a NY rebroadcast, which would suck for the boyz. And I predict we will be O&A'less until Sept 1st, (or after labor day?) sorry to be the bearer of sad rumors. BUT I'd bet if I could.. Mel-No's. Really. Actually Mel Doesn't Know squat. I started listening to KingSHit on his FIRST day in NY on Wwww-ennnnn-beeee-ceee And I laughed when soupy sales came on before him. And I was listening the day after GE pulled him off the air, I thought it was a REAL JOKE. until the next day's paper. And I've always liked him. And respected him. BUT I thought he'd be smart enought to know that after (what--19 years in ny (and 2-3 in DC before that), that he was no longer cutting edge, but TRAILING edge. and that when his contract (which I knew was up april 2000), I was SURE that he would be smart enough to realize that it REALLY Was time for him to retire, and work full time on TV/getting his formal talk show gig. WHEN I discovered (here as a matter of fact) that the asswipe didn't have the common sense to realize that the boys could top him at the game HE invented, and had renewed his contract, I lost the little remains of respect I had for him.
