Does anyone know what station Opie and Anthony will be on in Detroit?

I'm thinking that the best fit would be WKRK which is an all talk FM station, Infinity-owned, plays Stern in the mornings. They also carry Manboobs and LikesAss apparently.

The interesting thing though is that the duo doing their 2-6 shift currently are Deminsky & Doyle who used to be on New Jersey 101.5... okay, maybe it's just interesting to me {shrug}.

Does anyone know what their ratings are like, will Detroit be hearing them live?

I agree, that station seems to make the most sense to put O&A on. Should that happen, say goodbye to manass and lickass, I don't see them surviving (although lickass is still on "NEW saturday nights, isn't he?)

They will be in WKRK in Detroit but only on weekends(same as LA).

Check this interview (quite old) with O&A and it has audio clip of the interview http://www.fmqb.com/fmqb/upfront/upfrontf.html

Wow, that really sucks. I grew up in Detroit and
I've been telling my friends there to start
listening for O&A in afternoon drive. My
suspicion is that many of the "weekends only"
markets will be testing them out in the weekend
slots first, just to see how they're received. If
all goes well, then they'll be moved to a live
slot.

I don't get this weekend only slot crap. How the hell are the guys going to get over if they can't interact with the listeners live like they do in nyc and philly? That to me just doesn't make much sense. I can see on the west coast where it is only noon when they come on, but detroit is only an hour different.

Well, it's better than the deal they used to have...give them time, they'll eventually rule the airwaves

skitchr4u - actually from what I remember stopping through Detroit International Airport - Detroit's on eastern time, making the weekend thing even weirder.

Is that a for sure that they're going to be on the weekends only? Perhaps they are unable to step on the toes of other contracts they've signed? All I know is, I'm VERY rarely listening to MY radio on the weekend!

infinity should dump those two a-holes and just fill their slots with O&A

...well that's why I was wondering if anyone knew what the arbitrons were like for Deminsky and Doyle for their afternoon shift.

They do a 2-6 and - total speculation - I would think that they would ditch one of the other syndicated shows and move D&D into another slot? (Radio stations still love to have local stuff - and D&D do a lot of promoting of local sports teams and stuff like that from what it looks like on the station's website)

I'd just like to see O&A heard live in as many markets as possible - it's more gooder that way.

Weekend slots, taped slots, live slots, it doesn't matter. This is the tip of the iceburg. The best thing for them is exposure. Whatever slot they are in, people will hear them. As the show gets more recognition, they will get better slots. Rome wasn't built in a day. They O & A empire is now spreading like a small virus. In time it will become a plague.
