| Psychopath Registered: Oct. 00  | Don and Mike came on late today and said they have news regaurding d.c. and ny. It would make both cities happy. So, this leads me to belive that D&M are moving to middays before O&A, with R&F after. Most likely they will move the time structures of the shows again to make up for one less show. D&M are on for 4 or 5 hrs in d.c. So, more rumors to speculate on because they couldn't say anything about anything, holding true to CBS/Infinity standards. The only way the Sports Guys are out is if theres a mornings replacement. And infinity isnt gonna try to get something really successful in the mornings because they dont wanna piss off you know who whoooo.

| Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | Even if the entire city and suburban area of NYC was tuned into the radio that still only like 25 million people - with their HUGE 1.0 they pulled that like 250k listeners - and thats being very generous. TO have 1 million listeners at a 1.0 share they would have to broadcast to all of asia..hahaha | ||||

Gordon Liddy is being fired after a nine-year run at WJFK (106.7 FM) as part of a major shuffle at the guy-talk station, according to several radio sources. Liddy's 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. show is highly rated, finishing No. 1 in its target audience in the most recent Arbitron ratings, which were sent to stations yesterday. However, Liddy's show is less popular than the programs that bracket it: Howard Stern in the morning and Don Geronimo and Mike O'Meara in the afternoon. Further, some in the radio industry say that the tone of Liddy's show -- often a news commentary, something like Rush Limbaugh's program -- does not fit well with the rest of WJFK's lineup, which features men talking about sex, sports or pop culture. (SNIP - a bunch of boring Liddy stuff here) Liddy's firing means that Don and Mike, who have dominated afternoon drive at WJFK for years, will move to Liddy's midday slot. This is something of a risk for them: Midday listening often takes place in offices, and it typically is dominated by easy-listening stations, such as Smooth Jazz 105.9 and WASH (97.1 FM). Don and Mike traffic in often-raunchy, boisterous talk. On the other hand, Don and Mike's listeners are legion and loyal, and they likely will follow the show to its new time slot. Even if the time move becomes a local setback for Don and Mike, it will prove a big national payoff. Currently, their show appears on New York's WNEW on tape-delay, at night. For more than a year, Don and Mike have lobbied to broadcast live on WNEW, which is also owned by Infinity. New York is the nation's largest radio market, while Washington is No. 9. With the recent firing of WNEW midday host Leslie Gold, a time slot opened for Don and Mike in New York. So, in order to appear live on WNEW, they have to move their WJFK show to middays. The show will be syndicated by Infinity to other large cities, in addition to the approximately 60 cities where it already is heard. Don and Mike's afternoon slot on WJFK will be filled by WNEW's talk-duo Opie and Anthony (Gregg Hughes and Anthony Cumia).
