How about all those magazines that had programs that were about 5000 lines long that you had to type in just to get your computer so beep and show a line move across the screen?!?

Worse, the programs that were all numbers!!!!

Anyone ever beat Ghostbusters for the c-64? How the fuck did you do it....hardest game ever.

Anyone have that mountain climbing game from Epyx? I'd pack the dumbest shit and I'd always freeze or starve to death half way up the mountain.

My friend had a C64, we used to play Summer Games all damned day. I had the amazing, light speed loading Tandy, complete with cassette drive and giant sized modem that you loaded the actual phone receiver into ( ever see War Games?). Great for connecting to BBS at a whopping 1400 baud.

Say hello to my little friend!

I heard Anthony tried to play Zork but gave up because it was too difficult to navigate.

Oh, man. I can't this. I was talking to my mom at Christams and she still has mine in a closet somewhere. I think I may have to get it the next time I go.

Oh, I crushed ghostbusters, cross the streams baby. Spyhunter is the one that rocked. That and the summer/winter games, I played those for hours.

My mom tried to encourage me, bought me a book, you enter in the program in that back and follow along in the program as you read. 2000 lines later I have a program that doesn't work and a book you can't read.

Wow, this brings back childhood memories! I STILL have my C=128, I used to write those programs in BASIC. Those were the days. The "Mighty Mo" 300 baud modem. Before even the C64 I had the TI (Texas Instruments) don't remember the model number but it took cartridges to play games. The TI was my very first computer. I wish I could remember the names of those magazines that had the programs in them you had to type line by line.

VIC-20. 9th grade. Got it at Child World.

The only thing I could do with it was make a little stick figure guy do jumping jacks.

I still have my C-128.. used to play Omega Race (cartridge) all the time.. Borrowed it from a friend and never gave it back.. I stll have it ;) I still have a BASIC programming book with R2-D2 and C3PO on the cover.. I remember creating a program that calculated how much gas would costs base on how many gallons bought.. and making Colored circles within larger color circles. :)

Anyone remember the game ELITE? The greatest game ever had 8 universes with about 250 worlds on each universe.. use to attack the Space Station and clip off the cops ships coming to attack me.. :)

I remember when the 128 Users were High-Tech.
I had a TRS - 80 (yes a Trash 80).
The only cart I ever used was Jumpman Junior.
Also the MOD/LOD were the queens-based Jr high schoolers that used to crack all those games

That Olympics game and Flight Simulator, in which the audio was that constant hum (like a plane?) and was so slow that by the time you were airborne all you wanted to do was crash.

Did anyone else have the C-64 that closed up and was portable but weighed like 30 lbs? It was like 2 feet by 1 foot! I played Summer/Winter games on it all the time, but the Hobbit finally drove me to insanity.

Does anyone remember this online service that was out BEFORE AOL? I used it with my C-64 and my 300 baud modem. You would play card games with people at "Rabbit Jacks Casino" and play trivia games.I would lose 'cause people with the new 900 baud modems would get the answers in first!I just can't remember the name of the service.

Anthony, that wasn't Compuserve was it? My father had a 1 month trial back in the days of 1500 baud and phone reciever inputs. Wouldn't let me play one trivia game damn it.

Anybody remember Impossible Mission ? I was addicted to that game in my youth.
