| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01  | I was afraid of this. Now that I let people start uploading Non O&A related stuff, the server has been pounded. (No pun intended with all of the kid porn you tools upload) The average file size has gone from 42MB to anywhere from 150MB – 750MB. This causes 2 problems. # 1 – Less room for O&A # 2 – Slower speeds for O&A Fans I would suggest that we find someone else to provide an FTP site for porn and movies and just keep this FTP site to O&A and R&F. As a fan of the show – I would suggest that Porn and Movies are available all over the net but O&A shows are hard to get. So – I put it to a vote. Only replies to this post by Friday 8/31/01 will be considered. Also, votes will be weighted by contribution to the server, board, etc… (In other words 1000 newbies saying PORN PORN PORN will not count as 1000 votes for PORN PORN PORN) Again – I am sorry I have to do this but I want to make sure that everyone is Happy and can still get their daily O&A Fix. All comments and suggestions will be reviewed and considered.  | ||||

I had a computer problem and my side and I accidently added 2 folders. This brings up another point. I'm starting to upload Loveline shows. Should I stop to free up space or continue? Keep the server open to kid porn but limit file size? or, Is there a way to limit bandwidth on a "per user" basis? Maybe the more you contribute, the more bandwith you get? | Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | I agree with everyone here. I have noticed the FTP speed had slowed down to a point where it's just taking forever to download the daily O&A shows. Gone with the porn and other junk i say! PS: MACE, i think mulligan just wants the porn and all the movies gone. B/c they take up space and speed to download. I guess loveline stuff is ok since it's on the same station. (Personally, i grew up listening to loveline, so i'm a fan. Man oh man, i'm going get bashed for this.... | O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Well, I agree that it is an O&A FTP and the shows should obviously take priority over porn or even apps & progs, but I would like to go along with barch's suggestion of limiting the file size. Or at the very least, if its a jim-dandy of a movie (porn or otherwise) let it sit on the server for a few days, make everyone aware of the file here, and remove it thereafter. I'm sure if someone here missed out on a boot of a movie or a cool pron clip, the members here who have it would be cool enough to send it over (I would). And if anyone should decide to be an ass and try to put a huge file on there that doesn't belong or wasn't cleared to do so, have his file deleted and remove him from accessing the FTP, or something like that. Of course, this is more work for you Mulligan, but its an option. Of course above all, I will go along with whats best for the FTP and all of us concerned. As for a great site to get good porn (especially for you broadband freaks like me, IM or email me - I have a site that I go to daily, but I don't want to post it here and get trounced on for plugging another site. EDIT - I got to thinking about the idea I proposed for "worthy" large file uploads. Why not let the porn or apps get upped but only have a shelf-life of like a week or a few days? This way, everyone gets a chance at getting the file, and it doesn't sit on the server forever hogging up space and resources? Again, just a thought. I personally appreciate the show uploads, as I'm in work until 5:30 so I really only get to hear the last hour and a half of the show each day. If I miss something that happened early in the show, I come home, d/l it, and get up to date.  Silent Game has enrolled in summer school. Theres still one seat open! | Psychopath Registered: Aug. 01 | Saddly, I would agree, that the FTP should be for O&A, R&F, & Loveline(?). I have enjoyed the porn, but there is a ton of it out there (or so I heard). I do really appreciate the new release mainstream movies that are out there. Since the number of new releases being uploaded is far less, perhaps we could keep space available for these. | Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | I agree that it would be nice to have other stuff up but I am sure that someone would upload some movie and then 1000 people will attack the server trying to get it downloaded before it is gone. Other things I can do is do upload ratios where people who upload can download but the problem would be that it would force people to upload junk just so they could download O&A (Not a good option) So I go back to my original idea - As this is a O&A related FTP I would like to go back to just O&A, R&F, misc. bits, guests, etc.. The Porn and the Movies have just killed the server. And like I said before, you can get that crap anywhere on the net but you can only get O&A shows from a few select people. I would urge that e take these things into consideration when we vote and remember that I do have a life and job outside of this F-ing board and FTP site. I will not continue to administer this junk much longer. This will be my last post on this topic and i leave the vote to you. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Oct. 00 | I say keep the O&A and R&F related stuff up on one site & perhaps a sister site for PORN PORN PORN... And M-ACE, do we really need to haveLoveline on there...I kinda like the show, but the run the same shows all the time anyway on WNEW ...& JGNYC, I download almost exclusively in the overnight hours...so you're why it takes 5 minutes to d/l a 3 minute clip even with a cable modem...;)  Professional Slacker I should get paid for this crap... | ||||

But there are only one FTP that offers O&A shows, and i say we do whatever we can to keep that convient and easy to access for all the fans. And for the people that are upset they can't get anymore porn or free movies on the FTP. One word: IRC, learn how to use it, and master all the commands. It can offer you so much. And if you don't feel like doing all that work? well, go out, spend some money and buy some porn, or buy the movie when it comes out on DVD. | ||||

| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jul. 00 | I don't think you folks understand the problem here. Limiting the "time" that a file is available will only make the situation more badder. If we all wanna see Mariah Carie's movie and we know it's only on the server 'till Friday... We might as well toss our DSL & Cable systems out & go back to dial-up. Yes, you F-tards can brag all you want about your fast d/l speeds but "Mullethead's"(I just love that one) server only has a limited amount of bandwidth. Yes, it's a lot but, when all of us try to d/l 100meg+ files... Well, I'm sure you're starting to get it by now. More movies (porn or otherwise) = More Badder. [lil' barch is gonna kill me for sayin' that again] Not to mention that rotating porn inventory is yet another job we'd be asking mulligan to do (for FREE). I say if you want to try limiting anything... try limiting file size to I don't know, maybe, 50 or 75 megs? (O&A shows run around 40 megs, right?)This will reduce the amount of time each user spends eating up bandwidth. Keep the server from filling up too quickly. And, best of all, we're really not asking anything more of mulligan.Who, by the way, already does far more than most of us ever will. Long Live the "Syndication Underground" | ||||
