Alright people, i'm going need some help here. As some of you know, i will try to encode the shows when sblueman is gone for vacation at the end of this month.

The problem being that i usually use the live365 feeds as my source and record the rest on my computer. Recently, the live feeds has not been very reliable on the live365. It constantly cuts off on my computer, and results in ruining the whole file. To solve this problem, i decided to hook up my stero's headphone jack to my "audio in" jack on my soundcard.

Now here's the problem, i went to almost all the electronic stores in my area, and i can't find the proper wire or cable to connect the stero to my sound card. i drove around after work tonight in LI and check a few more places, still nothing. (ie: WIZ, PC Richards, and Sears)

The wire that i'm looking for is about 5-10 ft. and both ends has to fit in the headphone jack of the stero. The "audio-out" jack on my soundcard is exactly the same size as the one on my stero's headphone jack. Now i dunno if anyone knows what i'm describing, but if you check your personal walkman, or discman's headphone jack, you would know what i'm talking about. If you do know what i'm talking about, awesome, tell me where i can buy one. If you have no fucking idea, don't worry about it, hopefully someone else will.

Now if someone can point me to where i can buy one of these wires, it would be great. (Online or just electronic stores in Queens or LI would be fine.)

Your choice of stores may be too eclectic. Try Radio Shack (you may need adapter plugs, but they have all that happy crappy). Or COMPUSA in Hauppauge?

Why not run a line from your earphone jack of the stereo to the mic jack on the computer? That is how I have it set up. You probably could even just use the wire that comes with your PC if it's long enough.

More feeds are more gooder!

I just baught that very same wire (6 feet) at Circuit City about 3 weeks ago...
Don't know if there's a CC on long Island (I live in south Jersey and hardly ever get that far north)
But, you could try their online store...I think you might find it here:
Belkin 3.5mm Mini Stereo Dubbing Cord
Good Luck

barch97, you are awesome!!! That belkin cable was just what i needed. (i actually needed a 12ft one, but the name of the company REALLY helped!)

As it turned out circuit city didn't have the 12ft one that i need, so i did a search with the product code/name, and found another site that carries it. Placed in my order, and it will ship in 6-12 days!!!! YEA BABY!!!

Thanks to all the people that helped out. And barch97, YOU RULE! That first show i'm going to encode with this baby will be dedicated to you!!!

Glad I could help.
Just doin' my small part for the greater good of man kind.
I also know that Radio Shack carries an 8 foot extension (bought one of them too(TWO!)). One end male & one female. Only trouble is...the belkin cord is black & the radio shack extension is white. And, as we all know..."It's all about coordination."

Note:
couldn't you just get two 6 footers and tie them in a knot at the ends?

LoL, not really, but the 8ft extension (m/f) cord sounded like a good idea. It'll get me a (m/m) cord that's over 14 ft long, so that would work. Too bad i ordered the damn thing online already.
But that's alright, i think it's alot cheaper to buy the 12ft one instead of 2 cords and connecting them together.

The 6' m/m cord was $4.99 and, I think the 8'm/f was +/- $7.00. No shipping as I actually left my house for 5 minutes & ventured out into the real world. So, yeah...if the 12' m/m is long enough and was less than 12 bucks...

btw, is this strictly for recording shows or can we expect a "TrAnCeFoRcErAdIo" in the near future?

Well, the total for the wire came to $10+ including the shipping. So i guess it was worth it. And i think it would sound better with just one wire running instead of 2 connected from end to end.

TrAnCeFoRcE-Radio? hmmmm.. that's an interesting idea. Well, i gotta say, i haven't really given that much thought yet. But if everything works out with this new setup, everything is possible. I'll keep you guys updated on the latest thing.
