| Hanger-On Registered: Oct. 01  | i started listening to don & mike on sept 11, because they were the only news i could get from bahston. ever since then, i've been avoiding them like the plague. did they USED to be funny or something??? even howard (gasp) is funnier, by a little bit. this is not to knock ANY feeds from SU that may or may not have Don & Mike. You SU guys help me to make through the workday, and avoid the mid-day brain burnout!!! | ||||

They're basically middle-aged losers who have dubbed themselves "radio gods", and middle-aged hicks around the country eat it up. Remember... their crowd is the type that would find O&A a bit too raunchy.... the kind of people who wouldn't know "hip and edgy" if it raped their grandmother right in front of them. | O&A Board Regular Registered: May. 00 | I can tolerate D&M sometimes. It's just that their humor isn't to the level that O&A is. WHy yes at times they do want to gross out people with the ocassional contest, their show isn't O&A. I particulary enjoy News and Comments by Buzz near the show's end. But then again I can't listen that often since I go to class when they are on. But call me a tool if you wish, but I like every show on the station except for Lovelines or the Sportsguys. Now the sports guys are a horrible show in their own league.  I've been wrong, I've been down Into the bottom of every bottle These five words in my head Scream "are we having fun yet?" | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Sep. 00 | I wouldn't ask why Don and Mike suck so bad, I';d ask "Why is DOn and Mike not the humor we're use to?" Well, the answer isa simple, the radio stations they are synicated to are more rural hee-haw hick places, like Iowa, Virginia, Las Vegas, Wichita, and so on. Places like condsider Yankeeville A.K.A. New England Atlantic seaboard area too technical and above their intellignece. I'm not a big fan of them but they're quite entertaining especially if most of the other stations are shit or gonna become shit sometime. Sometimes, yuou need fart jokes and simplicity once in a while, it lets you know that there are lesser forms of life out there. I still miss the Radio Chick. But of course, that's me. | O&A Board Regular Registered: Feb. 01 | Don and Mike are just fucking HORRIBLE. The one time I listened to their fucking garbage show was the last nite they were on at 7. After that they did that whole moving of the R&F show to 7, D&M to...um.. nobody cares when they are on anyway. Wrong, try again dumb ass. That is why O&A are tanking down there. The city was built on a swamp. Surrounding by? Right, rednecks. Don and mike are bitching about YSP not picking them up? Why? Because they wanted a comedy show!! I am stuck in a van all day and listen to them once in a while. They do whatever is popular at the time. They used to do a damn morning zoo! Now they do the kind of radio that Stern or Imus did 10 years ago. They suck and unfortunately I guess it came down to Leslie Gold or them and Ken stevens has some sort or soft spot for their garabage. | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Dec. 01 | The reason ken stevens has a a soft spot for them is because they did what O&A did for NEW they were killing stern in the morning in D.C, infinite did not like this so they bought them out and put them on a crap station (JFK) in the afternoon, over a short period of time they turned the staition into the number 1 rated in D.C while Ken Sevens was working there so D&M are responsible for his succes | ||||

At least Don and Mike took WJFK and got a 14.2 share making it a top three station (it took Opie and Anthony to undo that, thanks for the 15th place in drivetime) The fact is that they have very different comedy styles. Why Don and Mike are even said in the same breath as Opie and Anthony is beyond me. It's like comparing Rush Limbaugh with Howard Stern. The ratings for Opie and Anthony in Washington are proof. They have two very distinct audiences and their comedies are both very effective, just in select places. If you don't like them, don't listen and just enjoy Opie and Anthony. | ||||

No radio station will ever get a 14.2 share in NY. there are too many radio stations in NY. In a town with 2 radio stations, if half the people listen to one station then that station will have a 50 share. Does that make it the greatest radio station ever?  M. | Hanger-On Registered: Jul. 01 | You are right, but Opie and Anthony are dealing with the same market now, and the fact is that they aren't pulling one-third what Don and Mike were. It is also true and Don and Mike are sucking in New York. Again, they are very different styles of comedy. They are both effective in their respective markets. You can only give an accurate assesment of Don and Mike and their traits and quirks if you are not an Opie and Anthony fan. | ||||

They even go out of their way to support other shows like Ron and Fez and Don and Mike at first. The fact is O and A's fate hasn't been sealed in D.C. Give it a couple of ratings book. They havent even had 1 complete book yet, only trends. If they're failing after 9-10 months then you could say that D.C isn't working out for them. M. I would rather hear a best of O&A from 10 to 3 until they actually go on the air.
