And I do appreciate that you listen to our boys and keep a some-what open mind. I don't agree with you and I would post my reasons but I'd be repeating the same thing as a lot of other people would say. In all honesty, a lot of your 'facts' are just opinions biased by your devotion as a Hoo Hoo Howie fan. So, perhaps if you could look at this situation at a distance with an argument predominately filled with facts, then perhaps you'd be more believable. I'm not going to say 'Fuck off Stern feggit', like I would to most of the mindless ffs that come here... But I do encourage you to research this a little more and perhaps look into some of the points of my comrades posted above. I want to rip into you, myself, but enough people have already done that. And, btw, it does not lend to your credibility to start a "You suck! No, you suck!" thread. Take that for all it's worth. Just words on a fucking screen. For these two dickheads to say that I'm still brainwashed is laughable. These are the people who drive away posters who have a valid topic, but don't want to sit through the "you my friend, are an asshole" quotes. Because I don't agree. Does anyone here realize you aren't gonna change someone else's opinion of what they like and don't like? You have to come to a different conclusion on your own. And as far as I am concerned, FanDick is well informed and wasn't just mindlessly bashing anyone. That is a reason to listen to what he has to say. So eventho I don't usually get into these types of discussions, I will get into this one a little. I don't agree with some of what you say. You think Howard took this format to a new level, fine, but everything besides talk~radio was going in the same direction at the same time too. So it really is a no~brainer that anyone who wanted to(and did) become popular would follow where pop culture was going. That seems to be his problem now, he's not very up on pop culture as much as he should be and was in the past. I'm not really sure cuz this is mostly what I get from hearing other people talk about what he's doing. I don't wake up early enuf to hear his show, but the few times I've caught it, I hear him being very behind the times. (I heard David Duchovny say CGI and Howard/Robin say "woah, listen to him throw around these initials like we know what he's talking about! Howard wasn't the first to do anything, he was the first to put it together into a money making, entertaining, different type of format. Different from ANYTHING else that was out there at the time. And the same one EVERYONE is doing today. It hasn't been taken further, just variations on a theme. Some people seem to forget that I love O&A too. I don't think they're trying to copy Howard. But they DO, do his format. They have plenty of original ideas, and they are good at what they do, but Howard was the first to put together the total package that we know and love today. Even if he was better yesterday. That's the only point I've argued here. Mothing else. just like you original fans defend WOW! I will defend Howard and the format that he "put together" I guess put together is more accurate than "created" I respect everyone here, but its obvious that some people are TRULY brainwashed. | ||||

First and foremost Howard was not the FIRST to start this sort of talkshow on the radio, there was once and still is the talkshow host named Imus who pushed the boundaries, Howard has credited him for this style. The difference when Howard started his style of talkshow host on the radio was that he went beyond limitations... I once thought of Howard as a male shovanist (might be spelled wrong but you do get the point) pig. Until I actually listened to him and watched the movie, that changed my mind about him. Now comes these two Opie & Anthony going farther than Howard has gone, meaning posting the nudes of women on the internet... One question for most to think about, why is there no pre warning for this site (Explicit Pics), doesnt anyone think about that... Oh yeah they have the warning once you open the link what good does that do? Parents that have the computer webtv etc set up for user-friendly well what a shock they get when their sons that listen to this duo.. Ask why do I get to see nudes.... Food for thought this is a user friendly site, with no pre warnings for the children that can enable the site... Something for the parents out there to consider, when they laugh at these two... When they are promoting nudity for minors to get ahold of without PAYING for these pics.......... | ||||

As long as you continue to be reasonable, I think you'll be fine. By the way, don't take everything said in movie/book as fact. you go back to '92? I went back to '85 or so. some stuff was changed for film (mostly timing of sequences). just keep that in mind. | ||||

But I absolutely don't believe A LOT of stuff from the books and movies. Everyone imbellishes for entertainment value, ESPECIALLY HOWARD. But I've done my research, think for myself, and know that Howard is definitely threatened by O&A. I've never seen him act like this. How could a guy who always took on all comers, and boasted about it, turn into such a pussy in this area? That gag order really did it for me. I was embarrased! And when I called O&A to talk about all of this, I was paying attention to see if they would edit me out, or pot me down, they didn't. They're as honest as Howard used to be. I still think Howard has a lot of funny moments, but that's what he's been reduced to...MOMENTS! O&A drain the comedy out of a bit dry like Howard used to,until you're laughing so hard, it hurts. Sad to say, Howard will always be brilliant, but he's just going through the motions now. O&A are DEFINITELY hungry. It really hurts me to say these things about Howard, but they're true. I'll always remember the countless hours of original and funny ass entertainment he brought me, even if those hours are few and far between now. | ||||

He used to take them unscreened as well, which I thought was great, and had no choice but to take negative calls. Not lately though, lately he's been a scripted pussy. And he's not honest about a lot of things. One of the main appeals of the show was his honesty about his personal life, taking on other imitators (he does have them) and his ability for the common guy to relate to him. Now, you get, "I'm protecting my kids, I ate at Nobu again" and gag orders. Very, very sad. | ||||

Sure he was inspired by others, and whether or not certain ASPECTS of the show had been done before, Howard put it all together. Like I said, no question about it. I even said this to the boys when I talked to them on the phone and they didn't dispute it. For some reason, Howard just has a hard time recognizing his influences and giving them credit. This is the same ego that is keeping him going because according to his OLD principles, he wouldn't be doing a show that has lost as much energy as his has. | ||||

What bothers me is the fact that he let his show become stale, predictable and uncreative. Too many hollywood people blew smoke up his ass along with certain other factors (And no it wasn't the divorce) just caused Howard to give up on pushing the boundaries. I think if Stern didn't let greed infect him, I think he'd still be shocking people but he's not anymore. He's just going through the motions, which is pretty sad. Fandick, don't worry about it, you're willing to try somethin new, and that's what matters. Everyone has a reason to live. My reason is to piss off my opposition because I enjoy their misery.
