This FU goes out to GOD.

How can we pray and say God bless America, when he allows innocent people to be slaughtered? How can there be a God when he allows madmen to roam this earth?

What kind of God sends an 8 year old boy to school, and when he comes home at 3:00 to find out that he has no parents anymore?

What kind of God takes innocent people who are just trying to help others and allows a building to collapse on them?

What kind of God allows people to have to choose to either jump hundreds of feet to their death, be burned to death, or be crushed?

These were all human beings, guilty of nothing.

Are we being tested?

God does not bless America. We can only believe in ourselves. What good are prayers? Nobody is listening!

You are an idiot with a narrow mind. I have no respect for what you just said. Maybe next time you should think about the ramifications before you make such an idiotic statement. How many millions of people throughout the world did you just hurt by saying that, not to mention the possible thousands on this board that you hurt?

In the words of Froy "Think Before you Post!".

I know this may be trite, but I feel that everything happens for a reason, not that the reason may necessarily be good, mind you.

Thomas Jefferson said:

quote:

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.

Now is the time to fight...we had become a sleeping giant once again and it's time for us to awaken. Americans were too self-involved...now is the time to join together as a country again for a common cause.
-------------------------------------------------

Let the people grieving and trying to find a way to understand it all find some comfort in their God...it's not hurting anything.

People should be allowed to reach to their God if that's what they find comfort in.
But I don't see anything wrong with what CSS wrote. It's not idiotic, it's emotional and rings true.
Not believing in God does not make someone an idiot, any more than saying believing in one does. It's just as narrow minded to say that. Sorry, Maynard.

As an Atheist myself, this horrific act has further enforced my beliefs. Don't doubt for a second that I don't envy those of you who do believe in god and find your strength there. I have nothing to believe in that makes any sense of this situation. All I have is sorrow. To call CSS an idiot for saying exactly what I am feeling is unfair. He is not attacking those of you who believe...he is just as hurt and angry as the rest of us.

You know Spit, I remembered that quote and am shocked that this is the first time i've seen it quoted on this board.
