Larry Merchant articulates like he just went 4 rounds with Roy Jones Jr!! It takes him so long to get out a thought. He talks like he has serious brain trauma!! That guy on ESPN-Al Bernstein, I think his name is. He is pretty good. The biggest crime in boxing is not Don King but watching Ali. God he was so good when I was a kid! Sad what has happened to the greatest boxer of all time.

I know what you mean but you have to understand one thing. First off merchant is a very articulate man who likes to phrase his comments and questions properly. Also a couple years ago Merchant was suspended for several months without pay by HBO for bashing Oscar Delhoya for caring more about his media appeal than actually fighting. Merchant will always ask the tough questions. He will bash a roy jones for fighting no names or oscar for not fighting, so sometimes he has to watch what he says before he says it.

But for my money best commentator is ESPN 2's max kellerman.

Yeah but it was Don King who talked Ali into walking into a massacre of a fight against Larry Holmes. It was donk ing who went against doctors orders and got ali a phony clearance to fight Holmes and that fight is one of the most horrific things to watch.
